Welcome to the website of The Green Cross Optimist, a visionary new magazine dedicated to presenting avenues of cooperation and innovation to break through the deadlocks currently preventing us from achieving truly sustainable and equitable development. The objective of this new magazine is to reach decision-makers and opinion leaders from politics, business, civil society, the media, education and international affairs, as well as all people concerned with sustainable development and building a brighter future for all people, including future generations. By issuing this edition, we are hoping to reach decision-makers and opinion leaders from politics, business, civil society, the media, education and international affairs, as well as all people concerned with sustainable development. The magazine contains thought-provoking articles on how human decisions and activities are making an indelible impact on society and our planet - for better and for worse.

At the same time, The Green Cross Optimist is not only identifying solutions to today's threats, but also detecting the potential crises of the future. Major global problems first develop in the political and institutional spheres; if not addressed, they transform into structural and economic problems extremely difficult to resolve. The Optimist will propose actions before political differences lead to irreversible disasters.

Today it is tempting to join the chorus of accusation and desolation. The Green Cross Optimist will inspire its readers with the vision of people who have changed our world, broken through barriers and challenged our way of thinking. While clearly presenting societal, economic and environmental threats, the focus is on the wealth of solutions and innovations to be found within the rich cultural, historic, scientific and technological resources at our disposal.

Our magazine encourages transparency and dialogue between advocates of all sides of the debates on sustainable development, including on globalization, security, trade, energy, agriculture, corporate responsibility, human rights and conflict prevention.
