"A tragic day for my family."

1. He was out of the loop, doncha know?
He didn't know everything going on in his company.

He wasn't aware of it's practices.

5. Perhaps "Baby-Face Lay"...
...got some "bad intel"...

Whatever, and the spin from the WH on this is laughable. I would say "how did these people become rich and powerful", but we already know the answer to that, that's why they are being indicted.

11. That's it! Lay got bad intel! He should use that one, too.

I read the WH spin and laughed as well.

17. OMG! w13rd0! He just used a variation of bad intel!
Edited on Thu Jul-08-04 01:24 PM by Solly Mack
When talking of the new accounting practices passed, he claims he was told they wouldn't impact how Enron did business. IOW, he is saying he got "bad intel" on how Enron would be impacted when rules changed...so they kept doing what they were doing.

7. Great timing here...
Enron happened mid 2001 - Kenny indicted in mid 2004.

Soon enough so that Dems can't use "Where's Kenny" in the campaign.

Late enough so that the trial won't be before the election.

20. What about locking retirees out of their 401Ks
for the weeks it took for the stock to be declared as worthless as teh paper it was printed on?

Is that the new definition of failure? :eyes:

18. It's Always Sad...
... When a criminal gets caught at what he's doing. Sad for the criminal, at any rate. Has he started quoting the bible yet? As Hunter S. Thompson said after he was arrested, "When you see me coming out for Jesus, you'll know they have something on me."

22. He made it clear that Bush* is a liar when Bush* said he hardly
knew Lay. He stated clearly that he was a Bush* family friend and friends with George W. Bush*; saying "well, I suppose I was a bit closer with Bush* Sr. than I was with George W. Bush*..."
