More should be said about the impact Dimson's regime has had on Unions.

My son-in-law is a union pipefitter in Missouri who was laid off 60 percent of the time from 2001-3, and finally decided to leave the union (temporarily) to work for a manufacturing company that is non-union and makes parts for vehicles and equipment used by the government. Interestingly, this is a German company. They have so much work they work the men 7 12-hour days. My son-in-law has to work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, no days off; he gets overtime but makes about 3./4 of what he made as a union pipefitter. Meanwhile, his former co-workers spend time on the bench or are forced to leave the state to seek work.

The work he did mostly dealt with power plants and other government-funded jobs, that have been curtailed or shut down in order, I believe, to funnel the money into Iraq. I suspect that the work he is doing for the German company is being funded with that money, as most of the things they create are for armored vehicles and airplanes.

Of course, I don't know this, and my son-in-law wouldn't tell me if he knew.

Something needs to be said about the money that used to be going into our local economies now being funneled (trickled) into other countries who hire our desperate workers for lower wages and work them to death.

I'm not hearing this from the Democrats.

Does anyone have information on this that goes beyond my limited knowledge and expertise? If so, I'd be interested in hearing about it.

On edit: corrected spelling and added clarification.
