An abortion argument I had last night
An acquaintance of mine, who knows I am quite left of center, started the, "You are pro-abortion debate" with me last night. Me, being so fed up with this came back with the following:

"You are right, I love killing babies. I wish I could do it." I asked him how stupid that sounded and then I went on. I asked him if he would be willing to help a poor mother with pre-natal and post birth monetary needs. Would he be available to help later when the child needs school clothes or health insurance?

I told him, that by answering yes to one of those questions, he is a democrat! That is what social welfare is all about. I asked him why he didn't understand that by bridging financial gaps between classes and social welfare would lead to a reduction in abortions. Families with money and health insurance probably wouldn't choose abortion so quickly. Of course I went on to send the point home, but it was to no use. He has been Gallaghered, Rushed, and Hannitized.

Why can't these stubborn individuals see the truth about social welfare and national health insurance?

"He has been Gallaghered, Rushed, and Hannitized."

And the reason that could even be done is because people are not taught to think, to reason. They are taught to "do as I say" From parents, to school, to work.... Don't think, just do it.

2. if abortion is wrong, shouldn't it be criminalized?
shouldn't the doctor, the mother, and the father (on conspiracy charges) go to jail? What's the use of passing a toothless law?

4. No!!!
It shouldn't be criminal, but I am sure that the conservatives would prefer we kill all individuals involved in abortion. This is because killing the killers is just. Honestly, I dislike abortion, I have two beautiful girls who are the light of my life. It also ruins my day when I hit a suicidal bunny on my way to work in the morning.

The point is, we should leave choice in place while removing some of the social ills that lead to abortion. You would think that a Christian would try to solve the social issues that cause "their" problem. Instead they attack "their" problem and are not willing to work on the underlying issues. I guess they think God will take care of the baby once it is conceived :)

:) this is meant as a rhetorical question and one that will hopefully push the right wingers into an untenable corner.

5. They'd rather blame women
After all, context is surpremely unimportant to antiabortion males, who will never have to consider having to make the choice. After all, the women looking for an abortion is doing it because she had sex with somebody besides HIM, and that slut MUST BE PUNISHED!!!!!

Personally, I think Whoopi Goldberg was right about antiabortion males needing to be proactive.
