I got polled!!!
It was a one question poll for the local TV news.

Did I believe that Bush intentionally mislead us regarding reasons for going to Iraq or did I believe that he was acting on the best information he had?

Guess which one I picked? :-)

2. How was this conducted?
Do they have people show up at your door? Do they call you on the phone? I have never been polled.

4. It was a phone call
It was a recording that asked me to press the buttons on the touch tone phone for my responses.

After I gave my answer it asked for my age and my ethnic group. It did not ask if I was a Republican or a Democrat which I thought was interesting.

6. Oh. Thanks. I wish I would get polled. But I live in
CT. So maybe because we have few electoral votes and are a safe state they don't bother. I did hear something interesing the other night on the news--they said that polling today is not as accurate because of the fact that the lists they have are of people who have landlines. So the people who use their cell phones and have gotten rid of their landlines do not get called because those lists are not available. I found that interesting and wonder just how much effect that will have overall.

8. I think caller ID would make a difference, too.
I don't answer the phone if I don't know who's calling. I'm not sure what effect that has on the polls, other than making them more expensive if they have to call more people to get enough responses for their sample.

9. I'm one of those people
who only use a cell phone and don't have a landline and I've never been polled ... I would have to assume that most people who have gone totally cellular are among the more educated and trend Democratic, so anytime I see a phone poll I keep that in mind and am a little skeptical ... there are thousands and thousands of us out here who aren't listed in the phone book but plan to vote Democratic

13. I live in CA
and it is definitely Kerry country. The call came on our home phone. I don't have a cell phone anymore. I had one but never used it so it seemed pretty pointless to keep it. But you do make a good point. Cell phones aren't listed so polling people with cell phones might be difficlt.

5. a better question would be...
"do you think Bush pressured intelligence officials to support his case for going to war, or do you think he made sure he had the best information he could get."

I think you would see different results from what i think is a more accurate question.

7. I wonder if there would have been follow up questions
if you had picked the other answer.
