1. Well.... there is one thing we can do... |
|
When they ask about Kerry's divorce records or releasing Whoopie Goldberg footage from the last fundraiser we can respond with...
"Sorry, I think the CIA destroyed it... It was ruled as accidental"
Watch how fast they shut up. :D

Love the idea...Kerry may be shrewd enough to pull something like that out.
He doesn't let any of their bullshit attacks go un-answered. Anyone excited about the debates.
Poor Dick and Shrub will be drooling and mumbling to themselves 20 minutes into their debates with the much more sincere, honest, gifted, bright fellows they will be going against.

9. Don't ever underestimate the enemy! |
|
When you do, you lose!
Everything in a debate depends on the ground rules, the questions, and who's asking them. They can be slanted!
The Pubs always reduce the bar so low for shrub, he'd have to curl up in a ball and cry to really fail. Kerry would still be hammered for being too hard on him.
Cheney is another story. I think Edwards can best him, but it's no walk in the park. He's a very shrewed and experienced BSer.

2. Express your outrage and frustration to the media |
|
Ask them to cover the issue in greater depth. If the media gets the idea we are interested they may go after this issue.
I started with CNN, ABCNBCCBS, then sent emails to my locals.
Can't hurt, and at least I did something.

His* own IRS filings would show if and how much he got for guard attendance. From one who knows: If you don't show, they don't pay.

10. Well, I've decided to assume that he was a deserter and a drunken coke |

head. How can he prove otherwise? At work I just call him the "baby killer chimp" - the lackey convervatives won't even stick-up for him any more.

11. We can make up something outrageous so he will have to |

produce the records to refute the rumors. Replacing the hidden truth with a "truth" that is unacceptable could smoke them out.

18. Exactly, someone needs to come up with the lost records that say |
|
that the Chimp did something awful and was actually discharged with malice. We'll see what that produces :)

Missing, you say? Inadvertently destroyed? Oh, no wait a sec. that can't be right.
Well, o.k. so they didn't shoot down the KY Governor's plane. so sometimes they f.u. in good ways, right? Yes, but the Gov. is a Repub.
o.k. o.k.
maybe it's true. a big bunch of Fed Personnel recds were lost in a fire in St. Louis about 10-20 yrs ago. so let's give these lying bastards the benfit of the doubt. and anybody who believes the story gets a lollypop.

17. The fire was longer ago than that AND |
|
they are not claiming that they were destroyed in the St Louis fire anyway. The ANG records, btw, should be at the state level as well.
A single section of microfilm was "inadvertently destroyed" and it just happened to have his pay records for the dates in question. NOW....this was long after the first round of calls for proof of service. You really think that the "benefit of the doubt" as you call it should be given when *if* there was payroll-proof of service in this stretch of film when there was PLENTY of time before the supposed accident for them to get print outs to support their claims of service?
Personally, I find it highly doubtful---all of it. Produce those bank, IRS, social security, etc. records. If he got paid, they would have those reproduced on billboards nationwide. They are relying on two things here: a confusion between vaguely understood types of film (these were modern MF base not some nitrate-based film from the 20s) by the public and most people's poor understanding of how many redundant systems there are for financial records of an individual in and out of the federal system from the 60s onward.
I worked a number of years in finance---believe me, there is more than enough of a paper trail to find out his income and sources in this time frame but only if it was beneficial to "find it"

13. Of course he can't find the records |
|
because there is no record of him being there.
The only reason for there to be no records or credible witnesses to prove that W served in AL, is because he wasn't there. He DIDN'T do his duty. HE WENT AWOL.
Now, in the meantime, if W wasn't in AL doing NG duty, where was he? What was he really doing? Snorting cocaine and getting drunk?
After 4 years in office, we still don't know what W really did with the first 40 years of his life.

15. we can ask the media to cover this appropriately |
|
it's going to get forgotten in the Friday news cycle and the average American won't know.
If this was Kerry you can be damned sure that it would be getting MUCH more coverage.
Kerry's war wounds got more coverage than this. Oh ok, so Kerry wasn't wounded ENOUGH for these fucking people and that gets coverage. Bush didn't show up and that gets a 10 second story and a brush off. :eyes:

With earth shattering news about comics performing risque routines at a Democratic fundraiser, how can you expect anything else to be covered? ;-)
