Bush calls Edwards the 'P' word (WARNING: Big laughs here)
Edited on Sat Jul-10-04 07:42 AM by RatTerrier
Because we all know that John Edwards is Mr. Gloom and Doom, right?

Especially when their web site and advertising aren't primarily devoted to attacking their opponents, right?

Get out your hypocrisy detectors, kids, 'cuz we're all gonna have some fun:

Bush Launches Broadside Against 'Pessimist' Edwards

YORK (Reuters) - President Bush on Friday called Democrat John Edwards a pessimist on the economy and suggested his experience as a trial lawyer would tilt him toward policies that would hurt small businesses.

At a raucous rally in York, Pennsylvania, the president launched his most aggressive broadside against Edwards since John Kerry, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, named the North Carolina senator as his running mate on Tuesday.

Bush told the crowd of more than 10,000 that the U.S. economy was "moving into high gear" but he said Kerry and Edwards were ignoring the good news while insisting that "the sky is falling."

He alluded to Edwards' sunny demeanor as he criticized his and Kerry's emphasis on difficulties facing workers such as rising health-care costs and the outsourcing of jobs overseas.

"Whether the message is delivered with a frown or a smile, it's the same old pessimism," Bush said.

1. Coming from the party that gives us a new terrorist warning on every
big newsday or holiday, this is just nuts.

In the past week bush* has given mental health authorities enough ammo to have him confined in a room with padded cells for the rest of his unnatural life. The doofus is really on a roll.

Edwards freaks them out because they see he could be our Ronald Reagan: someone who's actually passionate about his belief in this country, its ability to do better for the average citizen (you know, the majority), who is charismatic and attractive, and who can appeal to a broader spectrum of voters than any other Democrat (or Republican).

Look at the guy; he radiates confidence, enthusiasm and love for life. Edwards is anything but a pessimist.

10. Through the Looking Glass
I watched that crappy speech yesterday on CNN... Of all the inane and idiotic things he said, I nearly choked when he called Edwards a pessimist.

NO ONE who sees Edwards or hears him speak would honestly call him a pessimist. So Dubya... this is just going to be ONE MORE THING to make you look like the LIAR you are.

Keep em comin...

12. Think this is AWOL's "A couple of bozos" speech?
I remember that was the quip that drove the final nail in Poppy's coffin. When I heard that in '92, I knew Clinton was going to win.

14. For those who don't remember...
Right before the 1992 election, Poppy was in panic mode. Big Dawg was kicking Bush's and Perot's ass all over the schoolyard, and the best a rattled GHWB could come up with was this little gem:

"My dog Millie knows more about foreign policy than these two bozos."

http://www-tech.mit.edu/V112/N53/bush.53w.html

That was the end of the Bush presidency. He looked pretty pathetic after that.

Is it not pessimistic to fear-monger against a country to start a war?

Wouldn't an optimist have said that we don't need to invade Iraq?
