A Leader So Despised, He Cannot Show His Face In Public
Never in my memory can I recall a president that could not or would not meet with the public. George W Bush is so hated and despised that he cannot show his face except for military crowds or handpicked and vetted Republican supporters. If he is not the most hated, then he must be the most paranoid leader ever. Even Saddam Hussein mingled with his people.

Protestors to this hated man are kept at a distance in what they fondly and incorrectly call "free speech zones". Usually they are kept far enough away not to be heard or to be photographed by television networks. Obviously the hatred is mutual with Bush.

The downside for this despicable politician is that he must rely on the media moreso than the average politician because he cannot meet or relate with average citizens. However, his handlers believe they have enough money to make up for any amount of hate that might be out there. And they have friends in the media and others in the media that are cowed enough to do their bidding, so they are not overly concerned with the fact that he cannot meet with the general public.

One might think that if he knew he was so despised, he would decline from running again? Does he enjoy being hated? Is it all a game to him? If it is, he will deserve whatever fate the people decide to dole out to him. And rejection would be like a dagger thru his tiny heart.

1. I don't think he wanted the job in the first place.
I think he was talked into it as someone who could be manipulated. He should have listened to his tiny heart and said no thanks to his handlers. Can't imagine why he wants to go for a second term.

3. His dream job is baseball commissioner
a friend of mine suggested that W really wanted to be commissioner of baseball... hence the t-ball diamond on the White House lawn, and his odd statement in the last SOTU about how the one of greatest evil facing the nation is steroid use among athletes.

Maybe we could offer that to him now if he doesn't run for President.

10. so true, if only they would have given him the baseball job
the world could have been spared alot of pain. suppose similar claims could be made "if only hitler had been accepted to art school to pursue his dream of becoming a painter" and "if only anne murray had been accepted to the cartography institute so she could have pursued her map-making ambitions."

2. persecution complex
With fundies like these, the more persecuted they feel they are, the more it reinforces their feeling that they are on "God's side" or whatever. It never occurs to them that they might be wrong, especially since W. thinks God told him to run for president.

4. This is why he doesn't read the newspapers
He only wants to know what he is TOLD and his handlers make sure he is fed a regular diet of "We love you, Georgie" so his poor little ego isn't crushed.

I wonder if Poppy often scolded him as a child for being such a fuck-up, hence the hypersensitivity to criticism.

5. Kerry is not challenging this enough.
It is a weak spot for Bush. Kerry has done the right thing when it comes to debates, offering Chicken George monthly debates on the issues. But Kerry is not pointing out how hidden Bush is.

More importantly, Kerry is not presenting the press and the American people with a hopeful vision of a president who talks to the people after he (Kerry) is elected. People need to imagine what it would be like to have a president who actually did news conferences again and who was willing to personally stand up and debate his own positions on issues.

6. We have to light a fire under him and keep it lit. He is being way
too "DLC-ish" and happily lolling in the center. He'll never get elected being "Bush-lite". Don't run from your base - run TO it - That's what shrubless does.

7. and to think, it's been that way from Day One
During his inauguration, the protestors cleared the streets of repukes. There was nothing but protestors for miles and miles. He couldn't even get out of his limo because there we were, screaming at him about how he was a liar and a thief and how much we hated him. His limos sped up as we pelted them with eggs.

He finally got to walk along a little stretch at the end of Pennsylvania Avenue. To my knowledge, no other president in history has been so hated from his very first day.

Here's a protest sign, although this one was from the protest the following May:

Cher

9. Bush doesn't care. His base doesn't hate him, and that's what counts
to him. It's that "other half," you know - the loafers who try to collect unemployment - they're the ones who hate him. They must be stupid or somethin'. They don't understand that he's boss and what he says goes....that his decision, by definition, is always correct.

Amen.

11. I Don't Think It's His "Face" He's Worried About
More like having his a** plugged by some irate citizen somewhere and not caring too much if a Secret Service Agent gets in the way of a bullet.

12. Smoke him out.
We're gonna smoke him out.
What's he got to hide?
Gonna smoke 'im out.
And we'll see what's inside.

Gonna smoke 'im out.
Gonna see he's teeny-tiny.
When we smoke him out.
Chicken George can kiss my hiney.

When we smoke him out.
Everyone will know.

15. He knows he fucked up Royal and is ashamed of it all. Thus the delusion
mode he must use.....

Starters: He muffed it when the Hart/Rudman Report detailing what we must do to contend with Terrorism... rejected it

Then he muffs the Aug 6th meeting

Then he over reacted when 9/11 hit, stared at the kids for 8 minutes.

Then he hunted Osama

After Osama was a no show

Hunted Saddam.... big price....

Bush is a LOOOZER and he don't wanna be reminded....by the crowds protesting his sorry ass.

18. W is a very hateful and vengeful man
The more people hate him, the more justified he feels in telling everyone to go cheney themselves. He loves power because then he can really cheney everyone over. That's what it's all about for W. Pay back to everyone and everything in the universe.

19. TMHMOE!
a little lyric snip from the ?W Revue:

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE
THE MOST HATED MAN ON THE EARTH?
HOW DOES IT FEEL TO KNOW
THAT THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD THINKS YOU'RE INSANE?
YOU CAN'T SHOW YOUR FACE IN PUBLIC.
WHEN YOU SPEAK, IT'S JUST MORONIC.
STAY OUT OF TROUBLE, IN YOUR BUBBLE!

22. Narcissists are notoriously thin skinned
He cannot emotionally handle anything but bootlickers, the more servile the better.

The "who cares what you think" comment is typical of a narcissist being confronted with the truth of his disgusting behavior. If he had to face this on a daily basis he would implode. His handlers keep him well insulated from the hatred he inspires because he is incapable of keeping his cool in the face of it.
