What if Bush picked Condi for VP?
Of course I know it wouldn't change my mind. But do you think there would be a significant amount of people that would end up voting for Bush because of that? I just keep hearing to many things about Dick being dumped. Do you think he would gain more African American support?

1. right wingers voting for a woman with an education??right...
one of the very first things outta W's mouth at the rally in York yesterday was that one of the most important reasons to vote for him this fall is to keep Laura in the White House.

Laura do-nothing, be nothing, represent no movements at all to make the country better, or even for goodness sake, plant flowers and make it prettier, Bush.

We need to make sure we have a female in the public view who doesn't do a damn thing at all. Strip women of any identity, except wife and mother.

Condi? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

2. I wish he would
I think Kerry/Edwards would win by about 20 points ... that woman has no credibility whatsoever and anything he'd pick up on the African-American and female fronts (and it wouldn't be much) would be eclipsed by the numbers of bigoted white males from his base that would stay home

5. I guess he would lose some of the Bigots.
It would be an interesting move.

And Cheney would "play sick" and leave as opposed to being "let go."

4. I don't think that she is respected in the black community much.
They probably see her as a sell out who betrayed what they stand for.

That is hilarious....

He would just be ramping up his hypocrisy quotient.

Her goose-stepping Uncle Tomism would only be magnified.

8. It would be hilarious

With all the innuendo about Kerry and Edwards being lovers, we could turn this back on them. More evidence exists of an affair between Condi and Chimpy than between Kerry and Edwards. What a fucking riot!!

cost of lots of his base.... Rove believes (as reported) that "Xian fundamentalists" alone can elect a President, and clearly many would not go for either a woman or an African American. So, I have to wonder if they would take the risk, no matter how much it might help with those in the middle. Frankly, I don't see it helping him with the black vote at all, although there might be some "socially moderate" Repugs (largely white) who would feel better about their vote, given a black woman on the ticket.

12. maybe
I think he would have a whole new "gap" to bridge. ;-)

Actually he would probably get a few black votes but lose his base, if you know what I mean.
