I had never heard of them, and the woman on the phone said they were a non-partisan outfit. She didn't say they were backing Kerry, as it says on the website.

No matter! I answered 2 questions: Who I am voting for (she actually listed Nader), and which 2 issues, from a list she read, are the most important to me.

My answers, in order... Kerry, healthcare, and Iraq.

I wanted to include the economy (one of the choices), but healthcare is just in too dire a need of reform.

Good answers although even if they asked for ten issues I don't think that would have been sufficient to list everything that is in need of urgent attention these days.

I've been seeing a lot of people all over the streets handing out voter registration forms exhorting people to get signed up before the deadline. Even though I'm registered I've been stopping to chat with them to see who they are and the surprising answer is all kinds of people, from nonpartisan groups like this to the DNC.
