Brian Lamb

Thomas Friedman

Mark Knoller

Jim Lehrer

Alan Murray

Tom Shales

William Safire

William Kristol

Brit Hume

Michael Isikoff

there are two people on that list that deserve the title of journalist, and one is a TV columnist

EDIT

here's the rest of the list

Dan Balz

Ronald Brownstein

Jeff Gerth

Robert Samuelson

Howard Fineman

Wolf Blitzer

Cokie Roberts

Doyle McManus

Howard Kurtz

Jim Stewart

Jane Mayer

Fred Hiatt

Brooks Jackson

Brian Lamb? when has he EVER asked a followup question, besides to Micheal Moore?

course, one could say that about Russert, when it involves "questioning" a junta member

it's a series of the word puffpiece, surrounded by colons; but you knew that..........looks funny, but puffy

googled for several moments, and couldn't find updated list, but does anybody think this joke of a list has changed much since then?

8. OK, fess up: who do you think deserves the title?
I would vote for Lehrer and Mawreen Dowd (I know, she infuriates me... she has caused great damage to the liberal cause. But when she gets it right, she goes to the heart of it like with "BushWorld".

9. Lehrer??????????????
with all due respect, did you see the debates in 2000?

or his increasingly egregious junta sucking over the last few months?

they've gotten even more appalling than ever.

did you hear about that crap WRT coming on the next day to give equal time to the admin when somebody presented some facts that were embarrassing to the puppetstringers?

10. as far as that list goes
Mayer and Abramson, for their seminal, ahem, book on Clarence Thomas

made into a very entertaining movie on HBO, btw

pretty much helped launch the career of one David Brock, as well.

he wrote The Real Anita Hill, in response to their book

11. Well, Koppel has done some awful stuff too. I did not have a TV in 2000.
My bad. But then, who do select?

12. doesn't reall matter who's picked; just an ego stroke for
the cool kids

if we had an active media, with real journalists.........

never mind

and if you saw the Sibel Edmnonds thread, she said today that a major newspaper would NEVER publish a word about her story.

how's that sound?

13. I am so sick of the press, the government, the politicians...
But it is weird... I want to watch the trainwreck... isn't that awful? It is like a morbid curiosity.
Really, I did not have a TV for 22 years. And my kids are great thanks to that. And I read a lot, but was not politically inclined (just a liberal). But now... it is so awful it is like being mesmerized.
