Top 12 Things You Need to Believe to Vote Democrat This Year
WTF is this crap?!

http://pjammer.livejournal.com

Don't have time for a point-by-point rebuttal, but this is the sort of ridiculous, ignorant crap that I can't stand.

1. Somethings are better left to the dustbin of history....
Rather than reacting to stuff like this, just laugh at the idiocy.

5. it just pisses me off
that people get away with saying stuff like this. I notice he only responded to 12 of the 20 things for the original list. Couldn't say anything to retort to 8 of them huh?

Idiots.

Like some jerkoff's blog is gonna turn the tide of the election?

10. rebuttals are important
My college roommate knows the guy. He gets a lot of hits and readers from around the US. I just think it's important not to let stupid stuff stand without a proper rebuttal.

Nobody HERE would change their vote from his site. But think about people who are in 'battleground states'

He also posted a fawning, barf-inducing 'tribute' to Reagan a few entries down that got a bunch of people all nodding their heads in assent.

Do you know this person? I wouldn't worry too much about it. People on all sides of the issue post all sorts of crap to their own web sites.

6. They're running scared, trying their best (worst)

Lee Atwater/Willie Horton tricks.

We need to take back the language, once we regain the White House and the Congress. One votes Democratic OR votes for a (the) Democrat, one does not "vote Democrat." It's like "voting Republic," a sign of a lack of understanding of English grammar. (Of course, voting for a Republican is a sign of a lack of understanding of many things.)

A divorced, billionaire-heiress-marrying lifetime politician and an ambulance-chasing millionaire trial lawyer are the best possible representatives for the average, working-class American.

re Trial lawyer, his two biggest cases were to sue for the medical care of children badly hurt, and one of the suits lead to the "advised consent" laws. This "ambulance chaser" also was the 1st of his family that went to college and is a self made man. Re the heiress marrying lifetime pol, well he obviously loves the woman (just look how he looks at her) and a life of public service is a bad thing why again? esp since he took less PAC $$ than most others

The United States should obey all UN decrees, except when it comes to enforcing the resolutions regarding Iraq, where we should accept an infinite number of 'just a few more months' extensions. since when do we listen to the UN? if we did Israel would be toast

Government should crack down on Big Businesses who spend Big Money to research cancer treatments and pain relief, and ought to hamstring those working to alleviate human suffering with even more regulation. the largest budget item in major drug companies is their ADVERTISING budget. The government subsidizes most research for medical breakthroughs

Multinational corporations (with competitors who are eager to seize their market shares at their slightest stumble) cannot be trusted, but the monopolistic Federal Government always acts in the best interests of its constituents. I don't want them to stumble, i just want them to stop racing to the bottom, and clean up the massive pollution they leave behind

Americans must show the utmost respect for hate-spewing, murder-preaching Muslims, but leftists are free hold up the worst examples of those who call themselves 'Christian' to smear anyone who believes in a Judeo-Christian God. Huh? :wtf:

If we give free condoms to children and offer no moral education, they will use them with 100% efficacy and treat sex as a serious responsibility. oh my this is getting ridiculous. OK, did you have premarital sex? ever? if not, then you don't need the condoms. However a vast majority of teens do and need education to insure they don't need an abortion or worse AIDS medication. Morality should be taught at home, schools should teach basic science which includes biology and anatomy

A good way to fight terrorism is to try to 'understand' murderous dictators and make excuses for radical terror groups that sponsor and train suicide bombers. no, a good idea to combat terrorism is not to practice it as a nation, and not to support regimes that do (ala Saudi Arabia, Israel and Pakistan

HMOs and Insurance Companies are irredeemably evil organizations that should be seized by the Federal Government and nationalized, so all Americans can get the same efficiency and great service in Health Care that we currently enjoy from the DMV and IRS. surely there is a middle ground? I can envision more than black or white, can you?

Promising that the Federal Government will pay all the medical costs every American citizen (and illegal immigrant) incurs is a good way to keep costs low and encourage innovation ("Universal Coverage"). Kerry's idea is that the government pay "catastrophic cases" and by taking the high ticket cases, the run of the mill costs will go down. That sure makes sense to me

Saddam was good guy who headed an idyllic paradise until "the Great Satan" George W Bush deposed him from Baghdad and killed his wonderful sons. I agree Saddam and his sons were scum, but they were contained. We should have finished the job in Afghanistan and if we needed to go to Iraq, we should have taken the time to get a real alliance and a PLAN

Suggesting that there may be conflicting evidence on the topic of global warming is heresy, and anybody who disagrees is obviously a stupid, Bible-thumping redneck. hmmmm I'd love to see a definitive study that shows we aren't badly damaging the planet. Unfortunately the only ones I see tell of dying oceans, and killer heat waves

The Federal Government exists to enforce wide-sweeping social experimentation on its citizens; anyone who expresses reservations about it are considered enemies of the state and need to be sent to Inner-City Racial Re-Education Camps. OK that fits into the :wtf: category as well

9. Please, Allow Me:
  • A divorced, billionaire-heiress-marrying lifetime politician and an ambulance-chasing millionaire trial lawyer are the best possible representatives for the average, working-class American.

  • Yeah, his divorce and how much money his wife has are pretty fucking relevant, aren't they? And Edwards' rags to riches story certainly invalidates him. Especially when you consider the riches-to-riches background of the failed (and possibly criminally complicit) oil company managing, failed baseball team managing, alcohol-and-drug-abusing former weak governor who is in the White House currently, who's never had a real job, of any sort, in his entire life. And, as opposed to that "ambulance chasing trial lawyer", you certainly must consider that a multimillionaire crony capitalist, who still recieves compensation from the corporation to whom billions of dollars in no-bid contracts have been awarded regarding his war in Iraq, has a much higher set of ethical standards than a man who made his money daring to take on corporations at the behest of, say, crippled children.

  • The United States should obey all UN decrees, except when it comes to enforcing the resolutions regarding Iraq, where we should accept an infinite number of 'just a few more months' extensions.
  • Which UN are you talking about? The "effete debating society" that W. considers irrelevant, or the one to whom he's had to go with his fucking hat in his hand now that the Iraq mess has fallen apart? The one that comes up with global warming and international law conventions that we feel we can blithely ignore, or the one at which the Bush administration aligns itself with Fundamentalist nutjobs from Libya, Iran, and Sudan to fight against European proposals on womens' and reproductive rights?

  • Government should crack down on Big Businesses who spend Big Money to research cancer treatments and pain relief, and ought to hamstring those working to alleviate human suffering with even more regulation.

  • When you speak of "hamstringing those working to alleviate human suffering", you must be talking about stem cell research, right?

  • Multinational corporations (with competitors who are eager to seize their market shares at their slightest stumble) cannot be trusted, but the monopolistic Federal Government always acts in the best interests of its constituents.
  • Oh, yes.. The Democratic Party is constantly working to topple the Multinational Corporate world. This is why, while Bill Clinton was president, the stock market lost 90% of it's value, 70% of the American People lost their jobs, All wealth was redistributed, and we adopted a Stalinist Communist system of nationalizing all US Industries.

  • Americans must show the utmost respect for hate-spewing, murder-preaching Muslims, but leftists are free hold up the worst examples of those who call themselves 'Christian' to smear anyone who believes in a Judeo-Christian God.
  • Frankly, I'm amazed you can tell the difference between the hate-spewing, murder-preaching Muslims, and the hate-spewing, murder-preaching Christians. Must be the clothes.

  • If we give free condoms to children and offer no moral education, they will use them with 100% efficacy and treat sex as a serious responsibility.
  • Well, we could charge the children for the condoms, I suppose. Although I'm firmly of the opinion that we should allow catholic priests to teach children about sex. Really.

  • A good way to fight terrorism is to try to 'understand' murderous dictators and make excuses for radical terror groups that sponsor and train suicide bombers.
  • An even better way to fight terrorism is to invade countries that have absolutely nothing to do with the terrorists that attack us, while coddling the dictators on the country that has financed and produced the worst terrorists... That why, we can be sure that we anger millions of people around the world who didn't hate us before, thereby creating more terrorists, which gives us more terror to fight, hence a better fight against terrorism! Get it?

  • HMOs and Insurance Companies are irredeemably evil organizations that should be seized by the Federal Government and nationalized, so all Americans can get the same efficiency and great service in Health Care that we currently enjoy from the DMV and IRS.
  • Yes, only a madman would think that paying 18-25% overhead towards the profits of HMOs and insurance companies, that provide minimal and often sub-adequate coverage, while leaving 40 Million Americans with no insurance whatsoever, makes less sense than a single payer health care system which would turn the entire nation into the largest insurance pool there possibly could be, removing the 20% profit markup, and leaving only a 3% overhead, as opposed to 18-25%. And what kind of crazed nutjob would want the kind of health care they have, say, in Canada, or Sweden for that matter?

  • Promising that the Federal Government will pay all the medical costs every American citizen (and illegal immigrant) incurs is a good way to keep costs low and encourage innovation ("Universal Coverage").
  • Well, actually, that's what already happens. And until you pass a law saying that a doctor can turn a man with a gaping head wound away from an emergency room until he proves that he's a citizen with paid up to date insurance, that's not going to change.

  • Saddam was good guy who headed an idyllic paradise until "the Great Satan" George W Bush deposed him from Baghdad and killed his wonderful sons.
  • Yes, at the local commie pinko leftist cell meeting last week, we were marvelling at what a good guy saddam was. What a swell guy Saddam was. What a positive fucking prince of a man Saddam was. After all, how else to explain Rumsfeld's smilin' handshake with the guy in 1984, or the fact that Reagan trusted him with all those chemical weapons he used to gas the kurds? Just a salt of the Earth kinda dude.

  • Suggesting that there may be conflicting evidence on the topic of global warming is heresy, and anybody who disagrees is obviously a stupid, Bible-thumping redneck.
  • There is no global warming! Raising the CO2 levels by over 300%, to levels higher than they've been in 500 Million Years, is good for the atmosphere! Anyway, just having extra CO2 in the atmosphere doesn't mean the planet will get warmer.. Just ask those nice, crispy cool Venusians.

  • The Federal Government exists to enforce wide-sweeping social experimentation on its citizens; anyone who expresses reservations about it are considered enemies of the state and need to be sent to Inner-City Racial Re-Education Camps.
  • Hmmmm. Wide-sweeping social experimentation-- you mean, like, criminalizing medical procedures, and writing an amendment into the constitution that would make birth control pills illegal?
Anyway, re-education camps.. enemies of the state.. sounds like you know an awful lot about those kinds of things. Yes, George W. Bush, friend of Freedom.
