CIA TOP BRASS & BUSH IN COLLUSION!!!! - BOMBSHELL

Analyst Questioned Sources Reliability

Warning Came Before Powell Report to U.N.

By Glenn Kessler
Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, July 10, 2004; Page A09

A few days before Secretary of State Colin L. Powell gave his 2003 presentation to the U.N. Security Council on Iraq's purported weapons of mass destruction -- with its startling allegation that four individuals had confirmed that Iraq had mobile biological weapons laboratories -- a government analyst who had read a draft of the speech sent an urgent e-mail to his boss.

All those sources are suspect or unreliable, especially the key one nicknamed "Curve Ball," warned the analyst, the only U.S. intelligence official who had met Curve Ball.

The analyst received a dismissive reply. "This war's going to happen regardless of what Curve Ball said or didn't say, and . . . the Powers That Be probably aren't terribly interested in whether Curve Ball knows what he's talking about," replied the deputy chief of the CIA's Iraq task force. The warning was never passed on to Powell or his top aides.

The incident, detailed in the Senate Select Intelligence Committee's report on prewar intelligence, underscores a central theme in the committee's investigation: Although there is little evidence that intelligence analysts were pressured to change their findings, the agency ignored or belittled inconvenient or contradictory facts in its rush to present the most dramatic case against the Iraqi government.

13. OK, it worked that time.
It may not have been what you did, it could have been my timing.

We can see now why the repubs do not want the second half of the Senate investigation released until after the election.

3. WOW...
"The analyst received a dismissive reply. Another bomb dropped. Kaboom.

Of course we already knew all this- but it kind of flies in the face of the idea that the CIA is responsible for the Iraq War, doesn't it?

7. Tenet
He was sitting rihgt behind Powell as the lies were bing spouted. Powel knew it was all bullshit that came from the Gestapo, Powel's nickname for the OSP. They all knew it was bullshit. Chalabi and his gang con artists fed the OSP the busllshit that Rumsfailed and Cheney wanted and Powell fed it to the world.

The entire gang of BushCo are War Criminals!!!

9. And Tenet strongly advised Powell NOT to include any information...
...about Iraqi WMDs in his address to the UN because that information could NOT be verified by the CIA.

Powell sat there because he was TOLD to sit there.

11. Huh?
The entire pont of the Powell speech was to lay out the case for WMD.

Tenet may or may not have warned Powel off anything... chances are he didn't given the stovepiping going on and other sources, Woodward for example. (other than the Niger claims). Powell has been reported saying he himself discarded half the shit he was given before he went the UN calling it.. and I quote "a bunch of bullshit".

8. Excuse me, but where did it state in the article that the "CIA Top Brass..
...& Bush in Collusion"?? It doesn't state that at all, does it?

Here's what the article actually says:

"The analyst received a dismissive reply. 'This war's going to happen regardless of what Curve Ball said or didn't say, and . . . the Powers That Be probably aren't terribly interested in whether Curve Ball knows what he's talking about,' replied the deputy chief of the CIA's Iraq task force. The warning was never passed on to Powell or his top aides."

The "deputy chief of the CIA's Iraq task force" is NOT considered to be among the CIA's "top brass" by any stretch of the imagination. First off, he's not even the top guy on the Iraq task force. Second, the "deputy chief of the CIA's task force" may not even be a member of the CIA at all.

Based on the article you linked, what caused you to come to the conclusion that you did?

12. The title of this thread
Was my editorializing.

Sorry if that threw you. The article is presented as is in the post itself.

As for the "top brass"... the inference is from "the Powers That Be probably aren't terribly interested"
