Howie the liar on (un)Reliable Sources
Howie went the extra mile today. The topic was the 'lovefest' with Edwards. He claimed that only Democrats get positive coverage like Edwards got last week and wondered why the press was calling Cheney a secretive liar (gee could it be because he is one). I will try to post a transcript later.

4. I was wondering how he'd do this
I have been out of the house and haven't seen the program, but predicted, from the promos, that he was going to put the national press on notice that they were being too Edwards-friendly. (This is the same national press that has been harping on "inexperience" and "trial lawyer"--not to mention "lots of hugging, huh-huh" for five days.) I guessed that Kurtz is doing, in miniature, what the rest of the Right's media goons did to mainstream media in the 80s and 90s: accuse it of being "liberal" in hopes that it would swing way right as a way to overcome that perception.

So, DID Kurtz suggest that "mainstream media" must get over the "love fest"?--that it must, that is, do the Right's hatchet work?
