On his CNN shillfest Kurtz read a letter from Moore's distributor regarding claims on last week's "show" of charges by Michael Isakoff & Christopher Hitchens that F911 wasn't a documentary and factually flawed. Kurtz also had on Bill Press who attempted to defend the movie but was obviously outmanned 3 to 1.
Kurtz then in his snide way said that his prodcers attempted to have Moore on the program but he declined (obviously green light for Kurtz to hatchet him) and that the invitation is open for Moore to appear on the show to debate the way his movie was covered on the show.
I say to Michael Moore...GO FOR IT! Yep, it's bait, but the good kind. It's time Kurtz, the so-called objective observer of the "media" is exposed for the hypocrite he is. His goal is not to look at the media as much as to protect it from the very scrutiny he claims he gives it. It's time someone gets out and calls this bastard's bluff!

1. Inasmuch as F911 is about corporate media's shilling for Big Money |
|
This looks like a perfect opportunity to go to the source--Kurtz, the "objective" media "critic"--and hand him his head.

3. That doesn't sound like Moore to not show up. |
|
He is a master at media attention (and I mean that in a good way, folks) and I can't believe he would turn down a golden opportunity to take Kurtz out on CNN.
Why do I think Moore was previously engaged as opposed to "declined to appear"??

4. Kurtz's Ego Was Bruised...Awwww |
|
Look at all the media buzz F911 was getting last week. My bets are Moore had (and still has) more interviews than he can do. IRC I don't remember seeing him on any news show or even late night talk show promoting the movie during the run-up week or last weekend.
My bets (where are you newsguyatl??) that Kurtz people gave an obligatory call to Moore's agent and got the standard "we'll get back to you" and the request was put in the heep with the many other shows. Moore probably didn't know Kurtz was gonna do the hatchet job and was surprised, as I was, at how a supposed "media critic" could have such a biased panel.
Now let's see if Mr. Kurtz is good on his word. Even better...let's move this debate to a more level playing field. Let's bring both on Crossfire and let's rumble!!!

7. Moore can afford to ignore them ...and should.. |
|
His films speak for themselves.. If the little pantywaist pundits want to wet themselves over the "injustice and unfairness' of his movies, I say .."Let them"..
Moore does not need them.. Every time he makes a movie that is "anti-establishment, they will jump on it like maggots on carcasses anyway.. Let them pump up the boxoffice..he does not need to explain his "position".. and shouldn't.
Go Mike..

If there's one thing I'd pay to see, it's Michael hand Kurtz his head on a platter. And did y'all see how flustered little Howie looked when he read Moore's letter? He looked guilty and afraid, almost as if he though Michael was gonna sue his little ass.

10. I saw that show today........Mistah Kurtz really revealed himself |
|
he kept going on and on about the media trashing of Cheney, compared to the LIBERAL MEDIA (he kept repeating that!) and its love affair for Edwards
not ONE single mention from him about how slavishly accepting they were of EVERY lie he told about Halliburton, nuclear reconstitution, his CERTAINTY of WMD existence (Russert did an excellent job, believe it or not, of showing Cheney's statements on that).
what a DICK! liberal media my lily white ass

11. This Is Classic "Beltway Myopia" |
|
This doofus only cares about his small circle of friends...whose drinkie-drinkie party he's invited to, who returns his calls, who invites him to go golfing and so on. It's time we turn the lens on Mr. Kurtz and his little "media reviewing stand"...shall we???
I can't wait to see Outfoxed, as I'm sure it will verify what we know about the bias and "push-poll" news operation that Faux is. That's shooting fish in a barrel. But blowing the lid off a "respected" critic like Kurtz would be so sweet.
This goon is trying to use his little TV playhouse to give his column credibility that gives his TV playhouse a right to exist. This show was so much better when Bernie Kalb was there to semi temper the boy. Now he's in whole whore mode.

16. got that right.....where's Mark Hertsgaard on this? |
|
ever read On Bended Knee
he hit the media where they live, and I've NEVER seen him on TV, cause it reveals how completely they fall in line to the RW, though it only dealt with Reagan. that's the template they still use, and Kurtz and others today had the BALLS to bitch about the pictorial content of Kedwards last week overriding their attempts to go after Edwards himself.
this is exactly what the pugs started with Reagan, with complete media supinity, and NOW they're trying to point out how brashly those evil DEMS are trying to play the same game
hey, Kurtz, remember the BOOK you wrote about Clinton's attempts to manage the media? how come you don't do an update about the fourth reich, huh?

13. There aren't any legitimate reasons for liking |

There aren't any legitimate reasons for liking John Edwards better than Dick Cheney.
Therefore, if John Edwards is presented more favorably than Dick Cheney in the media, it's because the media is so liberal.

Look at that subliminal if you care...especially when they're attached to, or adjacent to stories about the FMA. You don't need closed captioning to read that Rove message.
And, of course 6 years as being a Senator means no government experience vs. being a corporate CEO for a government outsourcing prostitution ring (Halliburton) for his prior 8 years to being "selected" as the real power manipulating Bunnypants.
