After the Supreme Court slapped Bush's hand...

...over the prisoners in Gitmo, etc., I don't think there's a chance in hell they'd let him delay the November elections.

1. Is this the same SCOTUS that put him into office to begin with?
Just saying I don't trust the SCOTUS. I hope you're correct.

2. I don't trust them with everything...

...but I think they have a clear idea of what Bush is about -- everyone except Clarence Thomas, that is.

8. yes, I think after the slap in the face they gave him...

....I think they have a pretty good idea, and I don't think they would ever go for delaying elections. It's unheard of.

3. Yes, but you have to consider Sandra Day O'Conner
She was going to retire , why didn't she ?

I think it is because she is racked with guilt
and won't retire until bush is out .

6. I agree with you proud patriot and the sentiments of this post.
SCOTUS has seen the admin abuse the office they gave him, they don't like it and have told him so by their recent decisions.

9. I think you are right about O'Connor
And besides the election decision was 5-4, not exactly a sweeping majority. I don't think O'Connor would go for it. And we would have Souter, Ginsberg, Jones, Breyer and perhaps Kennedy. That's what I'm hoping anyway. I think that except for Renquist, Thomas and Scalia the other judges take their job and responsibility more seriously.

4. I'm not sure about that.
I'm really not...They HAD to do something about the prisoners in Gitmo, etc...But remember that they are responsible for the 2000 election theft.

11. Maybe they were pissed about Cllinton, but shocked at shrub
and how he turned out.

I think there are a lot of people who were upset with Clinton, for a lot of different reasons. Some people just want a change after 8 years of one party. Some Dems felt betrayed by his excapades and voted either for shrub or Nader as a payback. The SCOTUS, at least a few, thought they were doing the right thing and putting this whole tied election to bed. NOW, I suspect all those mentioned above regret what they did.

I really do believe the poster who said the Justices that were expected to retire this past year DIDN'T because they really want to keep the SCOTUS as impartial as himan beings can be, and they knew the shrub wouldn't do that.
