Better language: Canceling the elections is surrendering to the terrorists |
|
The terrorists hate us for our freedom. They hate democracy. They aren't trying to take over our country, they're trying to destroy our democracy. Canceling elections is SURRENDER to the terrorists. WE WILL NOT SURRENDER TO OUR ENEMIES!

this has been brought up for a reason. Not necessarily to postpone an election...but to do what exactly? What is the real motive? What are they really planning?
They're arrogant, not stupid. These people are up to something with this floater. It might just be to postpone elections...or it might be something they are building up to that people would accept more readily than a postponed election. It could be nothing...or it could be coming at us from another direction...while they have people's heads turned the other way.
All bets are off when you're dealing with Bush INC.

two thougths, one is they are simply lowering expectation regarding everything in the US - healthcare, transparency, social security, budget balancing. And this is one more. and 2) road blocks, intimidation and blocking poll watchers in the name of "sec-urty"

This is a trial balloon. They are trying to get people accustomed to the idea. Those who are actually afraid this is going to happen are missing the point. We need to stomp this trial balloon down hard...make sure the public reaction to this idea is outrage. It should be completely off the table.

If you move the election then the terrorists win!
To be fair, I think out government SHOULD have a plan for delaying elections (like they did for the NYC primary in 2001) - a plan that is analyzed and agreed to YEARS IN ADVANCE so that everyone knows the ground rules, not this "panic mode" plan.

6. In Iraq they moved the "transfer of power" forward |

to avoid problems. Funny they haven't talked about using THAT option here. For instance Kerry /Edwards is up 51/42%. Just for safety LET'S HAVE THE ELECTION TOMORROW!

is to stomp on civil rights, accumulate more power and lessen their own accountability. It's frighteningly predictable.

I floated the meme at the office today--just mentioning the fact that the admin is now openly suggesting canceling the election--and not a single person showed any concern at all.
This is why the Republicans are in power.
