Need help re: Laci Peterson Law
Can anyone point me towards a website where I can read up on this Laci Peterson Law that Camp Bush is using to suggest Kerry wants to kill pregnant women?

Thanks.

1. I think the issue was
that people were concerned that if you made a fetus a life (legally) and made killing a fetus murder, then the law may be twisted so that a woman who has an abortion could be charged with murder.

But, I know that the law did have written in there that abortion is an exception. So, I don't truly understand it.

3. A law like this should depend on the intent of the crime
In Scott Peterson's case, he obviously knew his wife was pregnant so he would have known he was killing both his wife and his child (or maybe not his child, according to some rumors, which would give him a motive) On the other hand, had Laci been killed in a random robbery, the robber's intent probably wouldn't have included specific targeting of the fetus.

2. It's the law that defines a fetus as a person for criminal prosecutions
for assault. Scott Peterson would be tried for two murderes under this law.

You can guess where this law is designed to lead.

5. Ugh. They're showing ads now with Kerry's vote.
I've already had one person today say it really bothered them. Ugh.
