bush speech.contradictions in same article.....
We removed a declared enemy of America who had the capability of producing weapons of mass murder and could have passed that capability to terrorists bent on acquiring them. In the world after September 11th, that was a risk we could not afford to take," Bush said.

The key U.S. assertions leading to the 2003 invasion of Iraq — that Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) had chemical and biological weapons and was working to make nuclear weapons — were wrong and based on false or overstated CIA (news - web sites) analysis, a scathing Senate Intelligence Committee report asserted Friday.

1. You're reading it right.
The commission says yes, he says no, and he provides no evidence to back up his claim. But somehow they receive equal press time and consideration in an open debate.

4. What If We Didn't Invade
Saddam would still be in power but under the close
scrutiny of UN inspectors;

There would still be no Weapons of Mass Destruction in
Iraq;

US troops would still be cleaning up Afghanistan
instead of leaving it to opium-funded warlords/Narco-Terrorists;

Real progress might have been made rounding up Taliban
and al Queda in Afghanistan and Pakistan;

884 US servicemen wouldn't be dead;

Over 5,000 US servicemen wouldn't be "Medical Evacuee's"

16,000 innocent Iraqis wouldn't be dead at the hand of American weapons;

The US wouldn't be hundreds of billions in debt and
might be able to afford education and medicine for its
own citizens;

138,000 US servicemen would now be home with their
families;

The US would still have its international partners in
the terror war;

The US and UN could use their newfound influence to
pressure Saddam into a peaceful transition of Iraq to
a democratic government.

George W Bush wouldn't have his present reputation as
an international criminal.

Lyndie England wouldn't be Osama Bin Laden's new poster child.

5. The worst contradiction, IMO
is Bush saying we're safer now, and Tom Ridge telling evryone to duck and cover because we're gonna get nuked before the election. They literally want it both ways. 'I'm protecting you, but be afraid!'
