Have the handlers in the current admin completely lost their minds?

I'm being 50% serious here. I am especially bothered by the suggestion that the elections be postponed, and it has lead me to wonder if there is truly someone calling the shots who is losing his/her mind. It wouldn't be so unsettling if it was my boss at work, but since it is someone who has at his/her disposal an arsenal of weapons that could destroy the world many times over, I must say that I am a bit worried.

I also think that this is going to cause more and more people to swing to the Kerry camp as I'm sure I'm not the only one who is wondering if "they" have lost their minds and worn out their welcome.

2. Well, Junior really really really wants to show Daddy he can

one-up him by being a two term president, so I am sure he will pull out all the stops to win. I think the election postponement talk is to 1) increase level of fear and 2) (getting tinfoilish a bit here I suspect) may be an attempt to goad some "terrist" (home grown or otherwise) to attack around election time as I think any attack helps Bush since we tend to rally around our leaders in times of crisis.

6. The REAL reason to postpone election

What's the REAL reason for all this election postponement talk?

How long will this "postponement" last if it happens?

Until they can be sure of the "right" outcome.

I want you all to notice something:

When they talk about the possibility of a terror attack requiring a "postponement" of the election, please note they almost always refer to the Madrid train bombings. This, more than anything, reveals what's really going on deep inside their minds, where some of them probably aren't even consciously aware.

Please note that the Madrid bombings did not cause any disruption of actual voting -- it actually increased voter turnout. It's just that the right-wing war-supporting candidate did not win.

That's the real concern to them.

Now, the rah-rah jingoists have been telling us that terrorists will not make America "cower." But isn't postponing our most basic democratic process -- the election of a president -- isn't that letting the terrorists control us, giving them what they want? If we actually have to "postpone" an election, the terrorists win.

But, you see, the terror threat is NOT the issue to the John Ashcroft or Tom Ridge (allegedly from whom this election postponement talk is originating). The issue is that the "wrong" candidate might win. THAT is what's got them looking into a "postponement."

7. Delays

And I do mean Delay. They've been delaying votes in the House to strong-arm Republicans into voting their way (medicare, Patriot Act). Now, Delay is asking the Senate to delay voting on the anti-gay/lesbian amendement because they don't have the votes. Where the Cheney does he get the right to ask the Senate to do something? They think that if they can Delay something, they can change the outcome. This needs to be seen as part of a larger pattern.
