I'm not afraid of terrorist attacks. The threat of terrorist attacks is not going to keep me from voting in November and it's not going to keep me from living my life as naturally as I did before Shrub took office. And it's DAMN sure not going to make me give up my civil rights nor will it make me sit by and watch others lose theirs.
These scumbags who would keep us in fear are not patriots. They're mercenaries. They see the U.S.A. as a great trust fund, and it's theirs, all theirs, to plunder as they see fit. The more frightened we are, the more they can get their filthy hands on.
No more. Vote them out and show NO FEAR.
The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Why let them control your life any more than absolutely necessary.
You have to live your life according to your own ideals now, not "When . . . ."
This Is It.

and stripping our constitutional rights. This talk of a delay in the election is incredibly disturbing because it makes me wonder if they are trying to just get us used to the idea that we are going to lose some of our basic rights so people don't totally freak out when it happens.

7. Yeah BUT...something dawned on me today |
|
Think about this (and please grab a tin foil hat if you have one)
We all know that Rove/bush typically float a balloon out there to get people all riled up and then they pull a bait and switch.
What IF this is a ruse so that everyone refuses to postpone the election NO MATTER WHAT and then a "terra" threat occurs on election day at various polling places (in Dem stronghold areas of course) and it prevents a lot of people from getting to the polls????
Just something I thought of earlier...it's very strange that the mainstream media began broadcasting this issue immediately IMO. it's just not like the media to broadcast that bush might pull a fast one and I am very suspicious.

by god VOTE VIA ABSENTEE BALLOT!
That wasn't so hard, was it?
Someone else said "I'll crawl to the polling place if I have to" -- the pricks in power are counting on us to DO NOTHING.
All it takes for evil to triumph is for good people DO NOTHING.
If you allow yourself to be paralyzed by fear, you will DO NOTHING.
AND THEY WILL WIN!

10. what if Florida Gov declares martial law? |
|
Just as an example...
What would happen if one state declares a kind of a lockdown on election day (like Jeb/Florida) and a vast number of people can't get to the polls? Would the state itself be allowed to vote later?
What would happen?
Just kicking out ideas here..
I wouldn't put it past them to do an about face and take highly publicized measures to make sure the election happens as scheduled NO MATTER WHAT (then they can stage a terra attack and say go bag it we won...even if voters in certain precincts weren't allowed to vote)
I realize this sounds way out there but all the focus on this in the mainstream is making me wonder what they are really up to!

I don't think there will be an "attack" by AQ -- I think it's BS and spin...
What I am theorizing about... is IF the bush admin (with the help of certain repub govs) were to create havoc in certain areas of certain states on election day and certain groups of Dem voters were prevented from getting to the polls (by their state government) while the election at large rolled on around OTHER areas of the country--what would happen? Would bush and company just be able to say "Oh well, act of God not in our control we won"
I know this is all bullshit about impending "terra" just wondering which angle the bush admin is really playing.

Carni, you are going to work yourself in to the very state that George W. Bush is counting on to win in November.
Buck up! Be a man - be a woman! Find your ovaries or grab your cojones and god dammit, suck it up!
You're going to "what if" yourself and your children and me and all of us into a pit of despair. I won't allow it!
God dammit, get off this "what if" shit! You are eating out of Bush-Rove-Cheney-Rumsfeld-et al's very hand!
You saying "what if what if what if" = Bush victory in '04. So stop it!

*I* am "what iffing" us to 4 more years of bush?
HELLO? 50 states would have to approve of ratifying the constitution to keep the election from taking place after this latest announcement of bullshit by Roves and company, do you honestly believe this will happen? Fuck no-
This is a RUSE and people are swallowing it hook line and sinker.
If bush wanted to declare martial law and postpone the election it sure as hell wouldn't be polled on CNN and FOX in early July.
If something happens and everyone has freaked and has proclaimed that the election will take place NO MATTER WHAT in ALL states...think about it? No legal wiggle room...
Hell they kept people from the polls in Florida last time. This whole line of crap is some type of set up.
Did it ever occur to you that the "election going on no matter what" is a double sided sword if the bush reich stages something that prevents "blue areas" from getting to the polls?
You don't know me BTW so don't give me this you won't satnd for it BS-I am thinking logically about this based on bush's past history.
If you need to tell someone to get balls or ovaries look in the mirror "Bertha"

My intent wasn't to offend you but to get you to see that "what if" is a form of fear, and fear is going to kill us.

Listen,
I don't know how to communicate what I am trying to say but I am going to try...
I am VERY familiar with the way the bush reich operates and nothing is as it would seem at face value when you see it on the news (in a timely manner) right?
There is ALWAYS a bait and switch.
To my knowledge there is nothing concrete in constitutional law right now that says an election CAN'T be postponed or reheld in the event of an attack, or an event of some kind in certain areas... so IF bush and his cohorts were to contrive a "terra" attack on election day and tons of people were kept from the polls (in blue areas) it is conceivable that the Dems would have legal recourse in court to have another vote later, right?
If bush and company were to close that loophole NOW... due to public outrage over the possibility of a postponed election, we could be screwing ourselves in advance (legally) if that loophole is closed.
Again, I am not communicating this well... but if this issue is on CNN Faux and whatever else NOW, then you can damn sure bet that it's being blasted out there for a reason. The media is certainly not slanted towards a Kerry win.
Let me again clarify I think this is all bullshit I am just trying to determine what they are up to.

If Bush's people honestly intend to disrupt, suspend, postpone, or cancel the election, they won't do it with a Constitutional amendment. I think they'd do it by offering a subtle, Patriot-Act-like Koolaid.
In which case, once again, fear will kill us, for it's the afraid who will say, "gosh... I guess this really is best." I'm am willing to die, if that's what'll happen when I say "Fuck, no."
Finally, you can't use logic on the Bush administration. Have you ever tried to use logic when debating (as much as one can) with a fundamentalist Christian? It doesn't work. All his sycophants may not be fundies, but they sure as hell don't believe in logic. They believe that might makes right.
By the way, "Bertha" -- in quotes? If you don't like my nick, use my name. Kim. It's no secret.

"If Bush's people honestly intend to disrupt, suspend, postpone, or cancel the election, they won't do it with a Constitutional amendment. I think they'd do it by offering a subtle, Patriot-Act-like Koolaid."
And I agree 100% with your statement above.
If these A-holes had suspending the election in mind, we wouldn't be hearing about it on mainstream news..the fact that we are, tells me that they are trying to goad us into some type of legal action that would set a precedent in the event that OUR voters are prevented from making it to the polls so that there can't be a revote, or a postponment.
I am not an attorney...but if you ask me Kerry/Edwards should be taking a very hard look at what their legal options would be for a revote/postponemet in the event of a bogus "terra" attack on "blue states" on Nov 2nd.

This is something I have never considered...
Has there ever been a hurricane or natural disastor that prevented people in one particular area from getting to the polls on election day? If so what's the precedent for that kind of a situation?
Does anyone know?

They want to destroy the U.S.A. You know why? Not because we're great. Because they're crazy.
But they're not as crazy as the Bush administration, if they honestly think they can get away with scaring us little nobodies into letting them postpone or cancel an election. Such an act would be nothing less than a coup.
Someone once said something about refreshing the tree liberty from time to time with the blood of tyrants. I work mere blocks from the current Tyrant HQ -- the White House. I will not hesitate to avail myself of the promise of the Declaration of Independence if I have to:
We hold these truths to be self-evident . . . that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it and to institute new government. It was true for the colonists in the 18th Century and it's true for us in the 21st.
And I am not afraid.

If I'm bright enough to see the discrepancy, surely some in the sheep media are too. But I expect them all to be too timid to point it out. Hopefuuly Edwards and/or Kerry will call them out on this.
And this postponement idea will test what kind of an OPPOSITION party the dems are. It's truly gutcheck time for them.
