Congressman Schiff redeems himself - will oppose marriage amendment

After writing a few weeks ago that there wasn't enough evidence to impeach Bush...

My congressman Adam Schiff - CA-29 - just answered one of those emails I sent about the upcoming marriage amendment, saying he will vote against it.

YEAH!!!

Here is the pertinent paragraph:

Our Founding Fathers did a remarkable job drafting our Constitution, a document that has only continued to demonstrate its brilliance over time. I am not confident that we can improve upon their craftsmanship by taking the extraordinary step of amending it, and I plan to oppose a constitutional amendment. Please be assured that I will keep your views in mind as this issue continues to be considered by the House of Representatives.
