Rethug Senate Sponsors ANOTHER Day of National Shame: Anti-Gay Day
Edited on Mon Jul-12-04 07:18 PM by stopbush
I feel ashamed to be an American today.

Ashamed that these fucking Bible-thumping, people-hating, morally impaired Neanderthals have spent an entire day on the floor of MY US Senate announcing to the world that The United States of America wishes to discriminate against a segment of its own population.

Ashamed that the mumbo-jumbo "beliefs and morals" of a group of people who purport to follow the *message of love* of some tooth fairy who never existed can trump the real lives of real live Americans in the fucking 21st century.

Ashamed that these ignorant knuckle draggers will disenfranchise and slime an entire populace THAT THEY SUPPOSEDLY REPRESENT in a stage-managed effort to grab votes from the most-repellent and unredeemable reptiles infesting American society.

And, most of all, ashamed that My country is led by the biggest bigot/racist of them all, a POS whose name I can't even bring myself to type.

One thing's for sure: I made it damn clear to my two kids (ages 11 & 7) EXACTLY what these fucking scumballs in DC were up to with their gay bashing.

Rant over.

1. Wonderful
Though the rhetoric is not going to win you any converts. :)

The argument to be made is the Constitutional one -- that gay marriage is already legal, and anti-gay marriage supporters would lose quicker than you could say lickety splat.

To pass a Constitutional amendment, you need 67 senators to sign on. The "will of the people," though in the 54 - 60 percent range, according to the polls, who support the amendment is not strong enough to amend the Constitution.

The Massachussets Supreme Court gave the gay marriage opponents one qualification for their argument: present us with one RATIONAL reason that gays shouldn't marry.

They lost. They will lose.

This is nothing more than an attempt to shore up their Christian Conservative base, who do not care about, nor care to abide by our Constitution.

It really sucks. But they WILL lose.

4. If you think THAT'S bad
you should have heard me while my senator, Rick Man-on-Dog Santorum was pontificating on the Senate floor as to how the was the most pressing issue facing the nation.

And then when Senator Allard stated that the legalization of gay marriage in Scandinavian countries had caused a large increase in babies born out of wedlock, I was screaming at the TV.

How can any rational human being listen to that kind of BS and not start ranting.:(

3. It's appreciated.
Just when you think it's time to 'move to France' like all the pukes tell you to, it's good to hear Americans who believe in equality and civility.

http://www.wevotevalues.com

they had a big national simulcast yesterday that churches could hook up to.....

Tune into the Battle for Marriage: Imminent Vote on Sunday evening July 11th. This 90 min. live simulcast rally will mobilize Christians across America to let their voice be heard on Capitol Hill regarding the Federal Marriage Amendment Senate vote. The vote is the week of July 12th, sooner than anyone expected! We’ll hear from Dr. James Dobson, Chuck Colson, Pastor Ken Hutcherson, Tony Perkins, & Dr. Adrian Rodgers. We will pray for the senators in each battleground state. Get ready to pick up your phone because WE ALL MUST CALL our senators and make sure they know where we stand on this issue. Tell all your friends because every Christian must participate in this effort or America will never be the same again.

EVEN IF YOU MISS THE EVENT - GET THE PRAYER STRATEGY
AND GET THE CALL STRATEGY FOR THE BATTLEGROUND STATES.
IT'S OUR WATCH! IT'S OUR RESPONSIBILITY!
WE ALL MUST TAKE ACTION NOW!!!! GET YOUR CHURCH PRAYING AND CALLING!

There are two ideas of government. There are those who believe that, if you will only legislate to make the well-to-do prosperous, their prosperity will leak through on those below. The Democratic idea, however, has been that if you legislate to make the masses prosperous, their prosperity will find its way up through every class which rests upon them. Wm Jennings Bryan, Cross of Gold speech, 1896
