Has Kerry/Edwards said anything about the elections being postponed. |
|
If so, what did they say; and if not - why on earth haven't they?
I think this is one of the most important things our nation has ever faced.

1. I don't think they've said anything about it. |
|
I agree it is extremely important that they discuss it because to be quite honest it is beginning to frighten me. It is pretty damn bad when I am more afraid of what my own government is planning and why, than I am about any 'terrorist' threat.

2. They should simply cite the law |
|
and leave it at that.
This is much ado about nothing. there is already a provision for this contingency.

7. Title 3, Chapter 1, Section 2 of the U.S. Code |
|
Whenever any State has held an election for the purpose of choosing electors, and has failed to make a choice on the day prescribed by law, the electors may be appointed on a subsequent day in such a manner as the legislature of such State may direct.
There it is, spelled out in black and white. It's up to the state legislature in the state where the attack takes place.
This has been in place for decades upon decades. It was Plan B if the result could not be determined in Florida.

3. Be sure to contact all of your elected reps |
|
talk about this with friends and acquaintances and write letters to the editor and others about how much this concerns you. Stress that this has never happened over the course of a civil war and two world wars and that if the public is willing to let terrorists cause their elections to be cancelled or postponed then they have no freedom to protect.

5. whats the matter with postal ballots as a contingency? |
|
Given that they are paranoid, why don't they just make sure that every registered voter gets their ballot in the post and can mail it in in case they cannot arrive at the polls in november.
Geez, positive planning is so bloody simple, my dog could do it, cancelling the election is something wholly more insideous.

8. I heard it here first. |

Months ago, someone had a What If... there was a terrorist attack and the elections were postponed?
F 9/11 mentions that this admin has been controlling the sheeple with Fear by raising the threat levels. Now they are promising us an attack before or on election day. Is this their way of trying to keep people from getting out and voting? Are they trying to make people afraid to vote?

9. I sure hope not.Why shd they help Rove scare urban voters from the polls? |
|
I saw a BEAUTIFUL MoveOn.org TV ad today, the best ever. Talk about "kitchen table" issues! A middle aged couple is sitting and talking about health care costs, outsourcing of jobs, the phoniness of Dubya's "tax cut", etc. The one mentions, "But Bush will protect us from gay marriage". The other replies, "Will anyone fall for that"? IMO, 'Election Day terra" is at best a distraction from REAL issues that will get Kerry and Edwards elected.
