Orrin Hatch on Hardball
Edited on Mon Jul-12-04 10:52 PM by Granite
keeps calling the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court a bunch of "liberals" who are out of touch with the mainstream of America with respect to the "redefinition of marriage" (his phrase). According to the Mass Supreme Judicial Court Website, 5 of the 7 Justices were appointed by Republican Governors:
  • Chief Justice Marshall – Weld (R); appointed as Chief Justice by Celucci (R)
  • Justice Spina – Cellucci (R)
  • Justice Sossman – Cellucci (R)
  • Justice Cowin - Cellucci (R)
  • Justice Cordy – Swift (R)
  • Justice Greaney – Dukakis (D)
  • Justice Ireland – Dukakis (D)
  • So - is Hatch blatantly lying (again) or am I missing something?

    1. He is either a liar or a fool
See also my thread on the topic: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x1980350

Either he knows he is wrong, and spews his shit anyway, or he's too dumb to know. Hence the dichtomy.

    7. You'd think, but there is just something about

Orrin Hatch. He is so smarmy.

Try watching him chair the Senate Judiciary Commitee for an hour or two on CSPAN and then see how you feel.

You're right DeLay should be the obvious choice because he's just out there more, but I'm telling you, There's Something About Orrin!

    8. How are the 9 UNELECTED Supreme Court justices any different?
Think about the logic of this. The GOF'nP claims to be about the "rule of law" but when a court renders a LEGAL decision they don't like, they cry and moan. But when another court installs a president who received 500,000 fewer votes than his opponent, that's supposed to be OK. What is with these people???
