Well, I don't think they are his base anymore. I think that a lot of rich Republicans, being pragmatic people to start with, have recognized that W was a big mistake. His bizarre war in Iraq is costing them a lot of money, and a lot of people are mad at Americans, and that's bad for business.

The scary part is that W has a new base. They are the religious right, and they appear to be on the march. While it's hard to get them to talk about it, it appears that they think that W is the Second Coming and is ushering in the Rapture, which will take them all straight to Heaven and leave all the mean kids that used to tease them behind to be tortured by devils.

The war in Iraq is not a policy failure or even an understandable lapse in intelligence. The war in Iraq is the first stage of a Holy War - an American Jihad - that is prophesized in the Book of Revelations.

All is going according to Plan. It is to be expected that their Leader will be mocked and abused by most of the inhabitants of Earth. Only the Chosen Few can understand what he is Really Saying.

People caught up in religious fervor are generally immune to rational discussion, logic, films by Michael Moore, or even the front page of the Washington Post.

I'm really concerned that this lunatic might get reselected by a lot of duped religious nuts. I'm serious. Don't laugh!

If you're laughing anyway, think about what Rick Santorum said today on the floor of the Senate. Ask yourself why a grown person would say that there is no greater threat facing our nation than gay marriage. Ask yourself how many Americans nodded their heads in agreement when they saw this on TV.

6. How about going on the offensive?

This is exactly why we, as liberals, need to take some action. It’s been done against us for years, why not turn the tables. The fact is that some people will vote against their own best interests because of perceived “values” (most of which don’t directly affect their lives in any way).

Imagine, if you will, a new independent candidate in the 2008 presidential election...a right-wing, fundamentalists to attract the far right religious base. A charismatic candidate could certainly convince at least 5% of these right wingers to move away from the republican party. Just the threat of burning in hell would be enough for most of these people to vote for the “chosen” candidate.

Keep in mind that these people are too stupid to realize that they are throwing away their vote, and would easily vote based on what their pastor tells them. A relatively small investment (in time and money) could start this phenomena which, I’m sure, will take off once you get a few of those large, herd-like congregations behind the cause. Just think of what a great way this would be to siphon off the righty-rights!

I have spent a lot of time talking to about Bush. They are both strongly Christian Right. I have pointed out many of Bush's evil actions, his refusal to pardon even 1 death row inmate while governor and the fact that he even mocked some of them, the death to so many of our soldiers and all of the innocent women and children because of our bombings. Nothing will sway them. They are so firm in their support of Bush. It make no other sense except perhaps what you have suggested.

Bush and his group of neoconservatives pulled the mask off the beast and openly celebrate the most cruel and corrupt aspects of our system of government.

13. Sometime

after the 2000 election catastrophe and 9/11...I was listening to an NPR segment where the reporter was talking to some Fundamentalists. They were asking about Bush's seemingly flip-flop on regarding core fundie issues. The question was something about how did these people feel that Bush had not been as supportive of their beliefs as he seemed during the run up to the election. Their response was very interesting. Basically they said it was okay for Bush to make certain statements or act on issues in what appeared to be a reversal or difference from their stance. However, they said it was okay because they knew that Bush was ultimately going to get what they wanted for the country. They even made some reference to his use of specific words that kept them reassured about what his ultimate intent was. And they were absolutely confident they would win in the moral war in which they are engaged and Bush is leading.

I was flabbergasted. I believe Bush & Co. are much scarier and much more engaged in what is happening. I believe they know exactly what they are doing and they have a goal to completely take over this country. He has got to go and we have to root out all those that have entered into the government under Bush & Co. that are buried and working behind the scenes to complete the coup!

That's what has happened at the CIA. It began under Bush Sr. and escalated with Bush II. My only hope is that those people in the CIA and other governmnent agencies who swore an oath to protect & guard the Constitution will see they must speak out now or it will be too late!
