"The devil can cite scripture to suit his own purpose".
By pointing out that the shrubbery is picking and choosing votes to contest, without using larger context, Kerry can show that the shrubbery is not only dishonest, but also imply a deeper undertone....
I'm sick of seeing ads where pro-choice votes are being portrayed as if Kerry was in favor of Laci Peterson being brutally killed.
Thought'? Ideas?

1. I think Kerry should counter this |

by focusing on the idea that * is decisive. Bush is reckless and stubborn and it is his recklessness and stubbornness that fuel his willingness to lie and cheat. Steady resolve does not equal stubborn, nor does flip-flop equal indecisiveness. Kerry should emphasize his willingness to engage in dialogue and to be flexible and diplomatic.

I'm amazed that the "flip-flop" meme has done as well as it has. I personally think that leaders that are willing to weigh the facts and have the courage to alter their opines based on these facts are preferable over leaders that dogmatically go about and ignore all new or contradicting information.

3. I agree with you intelectually... |

But the voters want to know where someone stands.
"Flip-flop" has legs for everyone who has ever been told one thing, and then saw another thing done. IOW, everyone who hasn't lived with a dogmatist.
The meme preys on human distrust, based on past personal, percieved, deceit. That's *why* it works. It doesn't matter what the line items on a bill were, what matters is that "Mary said she would marry me, then backed out, so flip-floppers can't be trusted".
