Here's a brilliant review someone wrote.
Reviewer: A reader from Sarasota, Florida "A riveting story that keeps you glued to the page until the stunning climax. Even a notification from your staff that the nation you lead is under attack can't keep you from reading the gut-wrenching final words."

Reviewer: A reader from the WhiTE HouSe, WAShinTon, d.C. This is one of the best books I have ever read. Once I started reading it, I found it impossible to stop.
I even forgot to do my job and lead the country following the worst tragedy in it's history because I was so enthralled by this book (Laura told me to say enthralled - It will make me sound smart).
This is a very good book. It is not bad like liberulz are.

Own a piece of history! This used 2nd Grade reading textbook contains the story "The Pet Goat" aka "My Pet Goat" that George was reading during the attacks of 9/11/2001. This is a copy of the book shown in Fahrenheit 9/11. This hardcover textbook contains many stories, including the 5 page adventures of "The Pet Goat" and "The Goat Stops the Robber" which kept George glued to his seat instead of doing his job (as shown in the photo - George Bush not included in this auction). Now that's a powerful story!http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=29223&item=6911587232&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

5. We Need To Be Fair to Bush |
|
His favorite book as a child, according to him, was "The Hungry Caterpillar" (we'll ignore the fact that the book wasn't published until he was in his twenties). That's a book where the caterpillar eats and eats and is always hungry and then eventually that leads to the very positive effect of the caterpillar becoming a butterfly.
But in the goat book, the goat was also eating and eating, but that just made the little girl's dad angry. So it was okay for the caterpillar, but when the goat does the same thing it was bad.
The inequality and injustice of it all.
He was obviously staring off into space as he contemplated the double standards that our society places on certain groups. Perhaps he likened Ken Lay to the caterpillar, and Martha Stewart to the goat. Maybe he was already imagining Saudi Arabia as the caterpillar, and Iraq as the goat.
In any event, I'm sure that "My Pet Goat" sparked a lot of very presidential introspection, and that sort of thing can't just be put on hold for some trifling thing like our financial and military centers receiving devastating blows in the most massive terrorist attack in the US in history.

7. Wave the goat book at Bush protests! |
|
A guy (now infamous on this board) who was protesting Bush's visit to conservative Lancaster, PA, was waving a copy of "1984" and yelling "no more big brother" when -- he says -- Bush flipped him the bird from the campaign bus. http://www.livejournal.com/users/jiveturky/185733.htmlCan you imagine how crazy Bush would get if his campaign route in Anytown, USA, were lined with protesters waving copies of "My Pet Goat"??? SWEET!

10. Not Only A Great Idea, But A SIGN Idea! |
|
Imagine the cover of the book, or some of its illustrations, made into signs? If we had an online copy of the cover, the Photoshoppers among us could have a field day!
Somebody want to put the cover illo up?
