Why do Dems go on Fox? The Repukes spit out the daily talking points... |
|
...and when the Dem tries to respond they get cut off.
End result? The Rethug gets to talk in a calm manner, uninterrupted, and the Dem looks flustered by their talking points and gets cut off repeatedly.
Just saw it a few minutes ago. They had a repuke rep from Miami, Balart I think, and one of Kerry's top guys "debating" the Latino vote.
The conservative, I swear it's true, simply regurgitated the usual talking point, almost VEBATIM! The host smiles and lets him talk, then after Balart runs out of conservative brain wash candy, the host asks the Dem to respond then promptly cuts him off. The Dem looks frusterated (Who can BLAME him???) and the segment ends.
Why go on FOX at all????
It's asinine.

Middle-of-the-road Dem's think they need to appeal to the crazies who watch fox for votes rather than treating them as they are: Insane.
So if they refuse an invite to fox, which by showing up before have given credablility to fox, they look like pansies.
Kerry, edwards, dean, any of the heavy hitters should never go on fox. Hell, nobody should. If they scream, and you treat them like they are screaming idiots, they'll just look dumber.

6. Actually that's the way the "Old" game was played. |
|
FOX isn't interested in even moderately objective journalism.
The "New" game (Which is only being played by FOX I might add) is pure biased helping hand propoganda.
Apples meet oranges.

5. A Kerry Administration should declare war on Fox |
|
Cancel all Fox White House Press passes. No Administration official should be allowed to talk to Fox, and Democratic officeholders should be encouraged to follow suit. Tie the bastards up in enough investigations and litigation to make their heads spin!!

9. If you're sugesting that going on FOX is a fight then I disagree. |
|
It's more like a "Hold him and I'll hit him" mugging. It's like tying both hands behind your back and stepping into a boxing ring, it makes no sense.
Waiting patiently while one side gets ample time and support only to be cut off before you get to make your point isn't fighting.

8. Why are you running in fear from Fox? |
|
Am I hearing you guys right? You want to censor Fox? Or you want to avoid them? This is what Bartcop calls the "Pink Tutu" syndrome, and boy, is that ol' Oklahoman right.
You don't run and hide from conservatives. You don't try to censor them like they censor us. You don't write off the people in their audience that think they're being informed by those propagandists.
You call them back. You keep calling them back. When they cut you off, you call back and keep talking. You get your friends to call them back. You show them that they are not the only voice in the world. You make their audiences see that it's possible to hold different views - and it will get through to them that those views may have some merit.
You talk in other venues, too. You talk about how these conservative media try to silence your views - but say that you'll keep talking, and you won't stop.
We got into this situation because people of liberal intent thought it was too "undignified" or too much trouble to stand up for their beliefs. The only way back to a fair society is to BE undignifed, to go through the trouble of speaking truth to power, and never stopping.
It's also just as wrong to say "to hell with the Fox audience, they will never listen to us." You are discarding people with potential, people who are suffocating under a hood of lies. If you simply preach to the choir - as you're doing here, frankly - you may feel all superior and everything, but you're not doing anything for your beliefs.

10. Give me a flippin' break. I'm talking about a LIVE guest... |
|
...who can't "CALL BACK" after getting cut off, not a random caller into a political opinion radio talk show like the one I co-hosted.
You're talking about a completely separate issue.

If you are going to insult the Dems, at least use a non-Bushevik term! And I'd wait until I saw what November's electoral success does for the Dems (unless the voting is hopelessly rigged and then we have much worse problems).
Maybe it will pour some spine into 'em!

15. The few dems that appear...... |
|
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 05:30 PM by nomaco-10
are usually either on the FAUX payroll or are trying to hock a book. No self respecting dem should ever appear on that fascist network.
They're so quick to yell "BOYCOTT" every time someone doesn't agree with their brown shirt point of view that it has become way past due for the people of this country to stand up to them, starting with the leaders of the dem party.
If you refuse to come on one of their ridiculous shows, you get accused of running scared or hiding under your desk, classic bully tactics that should have been addressed and attacked long time ago. Al Franken can't do it alone and the Out Foxed documentary needs to be promoted nationwide.
FAUX is the festering wart on the ass of the corporate owned media.

20. It allows FauxNews to play their "fair and balanced" game |
|
When they're accused of being partisan, they can start reeling off names of all the Dems who've been on the air.
The list of Dems who've been allowed to get a word in edgewise apparently doesn't exist.
