Bush Gay marriage Constitutional amendment? Its a L-o-s-e-r!
Gay Bashing won't fly! Its a diversion. Like postponing the election in case of another LIHOP al Qaeda attack.

BushRove are panicking, trying to get our eyes off the Bush freefall in the polls, F9/11, Edwards, Intel, Wilson/Plame!

1. Kerry will win 90+% of the gay vote.
Al Gore won 70% in 2000. This will hurt Bush in Florida and Oregon which has sizable gay communitties.

2. I've never understood that section of the homosexual community...
... that would vote with a group that has known and public ties right-wing fundies.

I've heard the Log Cabin Republicans' reason for being Republicans (to change the attitude from within the party) and its never washed with me. Apparently it hasn't washed with the GOP either.

But, at least they vote, which is more than I can say for those who don't.

3. They're like chickens voting for Colonel Sanders
And they have all the brains of chickens.

I keep reading about how upset they are about this, and you have to wonder what they thought would happen.

5. It's A Winner In Red States...
This was cynical political circus by the GOOP and it achieved what their biggoted leaders want...pander to the fundies with some red meat to go after Democrats in close races in those states.

This "ammendment" wasn't going to pass or come close. It was a wedge vote...another by the GOOP...to force Democrats and moderate Repugnicans to go on record as to their stand on gay marriage so it can be used against them in elections.

If the GOOPs were serious about this, they would have run it in the House where Bugman De Lay could ram it through, just like the impeachement...and force it upon to Senate to vote. And don't think it wouldn't have passed the House (including some tutu wearing Yellow Dog democrats who'd hide in the numbers).

This gave those who want to bash gays the chance to go on record...and many local GOOPs have done just that...going into the churches now and saying how they supported the ammendement as they hand out the voter guides and bus schedules to the polling places. Had this been 1954, I'm sure they would have done the same to black/white marriages.

Pull 'em aside, like David Drier, and these hypocrites state that this is a states rights issue (so they can cover their hypocritical asses with the old lie of Repugnicans standing up for states rights) while running to the Christian Coalition for the donation checks and use this issue to tar and feather their opponents.

Think this ammendment is that unpopular in Orange County or DuPage County or in the Bible Belt? It's golden...as in cash and votes.

Sadly, gay bashing does flies as does race baiting as does sexual discrimination as does class warefare in the GOOP. Bunnypants is having a revolt by some of the "Social Conservatives" (Paul Wyreich) and this is also innoculation from his real lunatic fringe.

As long as popular polls continue to show most Americans favor gays enjoying the same legal rights for their partners as married "breeders" do that's where our society will go...and on a state by state basis. Hopefully, a Democratic administration will put this strawman to bed and a decisive GOOP loss will force the fundies from power in the party and the eventual goal of gay marriage will be common place.
