KerryEdwards need to tell USA that massmedia represent CORPORATEinfluences |
|
If KerryEdwards don't run as hard against this crooked media monopoly they may lose. I think the media beat Gore more than Bush, Nadir or stupid lazy Americans. They won't help help KerryEdwards. so the Dems should go around them, cynically playing them off each other, rudely and vindictively if desirable.

I've also noticed the corporate media has begun to prop up Bush lately again - especially arms dealer GE owned media.

Gore tried playing Mr. Nice Guy, and he pretended to be above the fray. Lieberman, ofcourse, was much worse. Look where it got them with the press. Kerry/Edwards should definitely call them on it.

4. Let's use this antiFox documentary coupled with F9-11 and AirAmerica |
|
to say that the media is corrupt and can't be trusted and use facts to back it up. Dems should tell America that "We the People" can be forgiven for the sins of the Bush administration one chance only at the ballot box. The only reason America and the Democrats have another chance at righteousness is because we were lied to the first time by the Bush misadministration and the media. It's long past due to say that these corporate media outlets are just propaganda outlets.

While I wholeheartedly agree that the presentation of the news is influenced by corporate America, slamming the media worries me to some degree because of what happened to Dean late last year. Back in early December when he was still riding high, Dean came out and said essentially that the media needed to be disbanded and control of it needed to be spread out. I believe this was around the time or just after the FCC ruling? At any rate, the media's fascination with Dean spoiled immediately and it hardly seems to be a coincidence... While taking on big media certainly should be on the agenda, I'm not sure how wise it is to make enemies with most of America's source for news and election coverage.

I don't remember that connection with |

Dean. It seemed to me that the media blew up about his scream, but they never really treated him with respect IMHO. But anyway, welcome to DU!:toast:

It will be worse if they attack the media unless it is done very artfully (remember one of Kerry's off-mike moments on ABC(?) where he commented that he thought he was talking to the RNC). Better if surrogates do it, like Michael Moore with F911.

7. We need to make the act of going around the corporate media the message. |
|
The medium actually can be the message in this election. The corrupt Bush misadministration can only exist with the Potemkin village of the media giving it legitimacy. Remember F-911? Take that away and the whole corporate fantasy of the world and America comes apart, is revealed as a series of deception. Remember the street theatre camera shot with at close range, the bogus coverage of the statue of Saddam falling? It's all a hoax and if we can disprove it, we may win our democracy back.

9. DLC represents Corporate interests. |
|
The DLC/DNC is not about to piss off their Corporate paymasters. They may lose the election, but they will set records in raking in the money.
