5. JFK is ON THE INVITATIONS.....
sorry that YOU deny that JFK is John F. Kerry's initials....

GW is not George Bush's initials at all...it's just a rovian play on George Washington....

I hope everyone uses John F. Kerry's Initials (JFK)...that's what I see EVERYWHERE at John F. Kerry's NATIONAL headquarters in Washington DC...why don't you come to DC and VOLUNTEER, so YOU can see it for yourself???

10. Did you have input in designing the invitations?
Whoever did it is not doing Kerry any favors.

13. No....

since YOU feel so strongly, though....why dont't YOU come to Washington DC, roll up YOUR sleeves, and get to work on the campaign....after a few months of REAL HARD WORK, maybe JFK-HQ might listen to your input a 'little' bit.....

6. Absolutely, and thank you for saying it
I was going to post: "What? Is he coming back from the dead?"

The use of the initial JFK to reference Kerry is appalling, disgusting, and yes, insulting to JFK's memory, the sensitivities of all who lived through that period, and even to John Kerry as well. Poor taste, poor judment, just plain wrong.

20. I'm with you -- it REALLY pisses me off!
I was 14 when JFK was assassinated, it remains one of the most singularly traumatic events of my lifetime. I have absolutely NO tolerance for that moniker being assumed by someone else!

7. You need to call Kerry headquarters in Washington DC, if you didn't
Edited on Wed Jul-14-04 03:25 PM by amen1234
get an invitation, or are NOT volunteering for Kerry in Virginia...I helped mail out the Kerry HQ invitations (along with 40 other volunteers), and we mailed a whole section of invites to Moran's supporters...so check with your friends to see if they got their invitations...are they volunteering for Kerry in Virginia?? if so, they are likely already set up....

JFK-HQ let you know all the details...it's a fund-raiser, and it's NOT really a barbecue (that's an old Virginia joke)....it's going through Democratic people to KEEP FREEPERS AWAY....you can't just drive over, you need to be VOLUNTEERING real hard on getting Kerry elected....

11. for the record,
I personally dislike the use of "JFK" and have since people started doing it.

I admire both men, but it opens up an unnecessary point of vulnerability in debates and so forth. Have we already forgotten about Quayle being chided by Bentzen "I've known John Kennedy, and you are NO John Kennedy"??

to invite even the possibility of bringing that up is irresponsible. I don't blame the poster here who did so, but I cringe when I hear it or read it in general.

12. and Kerry himself doesn't want to be called it
they ARE his initials so they will be used at times, especially in formal things. but as for what people usually call him he just wants to be called john kerry or jk.

18. Lucky you! I only get Frank Wolf, the GOP Doormat...
Northern Virginia needs some new political leaders, that's for sure.

And I was curious too as to what constitutes a Kerry Volunteer? I've been handing out his stuff for weeks now.

15. Was that the piece I got from Moran and didn't open yesterday?
Seriously. I don't live in his district, so I didn't pay any attention to it.

We've been screaming about the Kerry campaign not putting any money into VA and we are desperate for proper lit, etc.

Copying fliers off the web can get very, very tedious and timeconsuming when you are doing lit drops in neighborhoods twice a week.
