How many of you at DU think that most of the hot air coming from

the Republican right on Gay Marriage,outlawing abortion,Bush's snub of NAACP etc.are due to their sexual insecurity?These nuts are afraid of independent women, blacks and young people exercising their rights as Americans and as human beings.They are also afraid of being overtaken by immigrants from Asia and Latin America economically.Can anyone imagine any of the Republican senators being able to get a blow job from a young chick like Clinton did? And, without having to pay money for it?

I think this sexual envy is at the root of the problem.What do DUers think of my theory.I think this has more merit than the phony psychiatrist Krauthammer's hot air.

1. They will say whatever it takes to put them in power

It is about appealing to the prejudice of their fundamentalist base.

They don't have any real beliefs except a belief in power for themselves and more amd more money for their rich donors.

2. Just a small part of it.

I think the largest part is calculated. It's a weapon of mass distraction. Pick a hot-button issue that you can work your conservative voter base into a frenzy over; something that is totally removed from issues like health care, the economy, the military, etc.. Let everybody get in an uproar; feed the flames. Use fear/hatred of those different from you to distract your masses.

3. Rabid RWers have high anxieties about women

so they seek to control them through their sexuality.

The same would be true of minorities in the past, when they (RWers) fought so hard to control them via segregation, etc.

Gay folks REALLY make them anxious for a smorgasbord of reasons, all of which indicate neurosis.

Their answer to the things they fear, is to attempt to exert control over them.

I'm beginning to believe they are hard-wired for these anxious predispositions, and therefore mostly a lost cause for logic.
