Watching Hardball earlier and CM was pumping the "Hiliary wants Kerry/Edwards to lose so she can run in '08" meme. If she had a prominent speaking role, he and all the haters would be saying she and Bill won't give up the spotlight and insist on taking up space instead of letting the new crowd have it. Now that she's not speaking, the haters can't make up their minds between gleefully harping about her supposedly diminished role or saying that she doesn't want to support the ticket in the hopes that the spot will be hers next time. Usually they take the schizophrenic approach and make both arguments simultaneously. I honestly don't understand the irrational hatred of her. But a lot of these guys have built a career around Clinton bashing and I guess it just pays too well to give it up.
