Why aren't Dems pushing Stem Cell research harder?
I have rarely heard Kerry mention it. Latest polls show that near 70% are FOR stem cell research. But why aren't Dems making a bigger deal about this? This is a no brainer issue. All you need to say is "Bush is banning research that could help cure incurable diseases." Case closed, we win.

I just find it odd that Dems are not pounding this issue. It needs to be addressed. I even think you can win over moderates and independants. Seems to me they are behind on this VERY important issue.

1. they are
Ron Reagan Jr is doing a speech at the convention that is 100% about stem cell research.

Kerry has said a lot about it. Check his site for past releases.

2. Thanks. I just hope they hammer this issue.
I am utterly disgusted at the banning of Stem Cell research. How can you tell a little boy or girl that Mr. Bush is halting research that may cure them of their diabetes. How the hell does Bush answer to children!!!

4. Ronny is speaking for Nancy
since Nancy can`t..this will not be lost on millions of people who will be facing this horror in the coming years..the republicans have gay marriage issue that most people could care less about but they do care about the diseases that maybe cured by stem cell.

what do the republicans think of ronny speaking to the democrats knowing full well that he is speaking for nancy?

5. How about we get Christopher Reeve to speak?
I know he is a BIG supporter of stem cell research. Have him come out and say something about Stem Cell research and how it could help him walk again.

6. My understanding is that Stem Cell research is not banned.
It is just not federally funded. There are most likely some private companies working on it right now.

7. They are speaking about it!
Kerry and Edwards were very clear about advancing medical research in order to save lives at the rally in Raleigh.

This is a very passionate issue for them and Ron Jr. speaking at the convention will have an enormous impact.
