Charles Pierce slams bowtie boy...
Check out Altercation...

Pierce rips off Tucker Carlson's head and shits down his neck.

===

On the first day of last year, as part of his opening comments on Crossfire, this is how the incident was described by Tucker Carlson, whom public and private broadcasting networks tumble all over themselves to hire: "Four years ago, he (Edwards) was a personal-injury lawyer specializing in Jacuzzi cases."

Jacuzzi cases.

An eight-year old who got disemboweled.

-snip-

Now, I know it's a terrible thing when Whoopi Goldberg makes salacious fun of C-Plus Augustus's last name. I know that society may simply collapse. But here is a professional communicator at the top of his profession who, because he couldn't come up with anything else to say at the moment, smugly dispatches the tragedy of a child whose guts were ripped out. (Later in the same show, he told co-host James Carville to "Lighten up," about his comments.) It was an interesting evening -- not only should Tucker Carlson have lost every job in the professional media that he has, and not only did he lose forever any right to criticize anyone for intemperate speech, he at that moment should have been shunned by decent people for the rest of his sorry life.

1. If it makes you feel any better,
Tucker was shunned by decent people long ago.

6. Wingnuts always cry.... Frivolous lawsuit
Edited on Thu Jul-15-04 01:53 PM by JohnnyRingo
Then they attempt to make light of the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Remember the old woman at McDonalds who was horribly disfigured and required multiple skin grafting because they wanted to avoid complaints about cold coffee ?

Buxh's tort reforms will cap personal injury suits at $500,000, Even in the event of death. Yes, GW has determined the dollar value of a human life, and he doesn't price it high.

Mindless RW followers chime right in, begging an end to the big dollar settlements, until it happens to their loved one.

"Junk lawsuits", indeed !

Sorry, I got off topic, but Bow Tie Boy's insinuation is a classic example of conservative manipulation of the masses to feed the corporate interests.

7. And it just isn't personal injury. Bush uses "trial lawyers" on the stump
Do you think Bush had a trial lawyer for his DUI's?

It's interesting the use of "trial lawyers" as the stump speech talk. There is an underlying thought process that they hate all lawyers.

8. Yep...If one were to publicly call Carlson a registered nazi
He would be damaged enormously, run to an attorney, and sue for millions......Because "that's different"

9. Yep.
Offend their honor, they have a right to sue. But if a company makes a device that disembowels children, well, you are just being overly sensitive and frivolous.

11. Not Just Because They Wanted to Avoid Cold Coffee Complaints
But because they didn't want to incur the couple cents' cost per coffee pot to actually disinfect the bastards so they cranked the heat up to practically boiling to kill the germs.

They figured the cost of lawsuits would be lower than the cost of cleaning their damned coffee pots.
