They were there for "humanitarian assistance" (read a fig leaf for the U.S. to pretend we have a "coalition" for the conquest of the oil fields.)

This isn't an opinion thing, this is a logistic/military decision thing which I am not qualified to answer. Should they be withdrawing troops? Only if they feel it is within their best interest to do so. Do I want them to? No, I don't. As long as Iraq is occupied, I'd like to see as many nations involved as possible. Otherwise, the US is just going to make worse and worse decisions there.
