Tucker Carlson, that fine example of macho, questions Kerry's sexuality
Edited on Thu Jul-15-04 04:01 PM by plastic_turkeys
Ends Crossfire show with "You are so beautiful" musical montage of Kerry and Edwards showing "gay" affection.......presents "Best love scene" trophy to them.... evidently this is the #1 GOP tactic this year. Disgraceful.

40. Doesn't this tactic just have "junior high" written all over it?
Seems like we were about 12 or 13 when this was a good way to insult the unpopular kids.

8. Exactly.
Since they can't debate the issues, they find turn to stupid, useless tactics such as calling Kerry/Edwards gay.

This will bite them in the ass and rightly so.

7. Let them bring their bigotry and hatred to the surface
Moderate Republican candidates need to be approached about possible negative coattails when it comes to Bush. They should start 'making their own way' and not rely on Bush to bring them victory.

38. There's not much "Lincoln"
left in the party of Lincoln. Lincoln is one of the Americans I have read fairiy extensively on. (dangling participle, but so what?)

I see no resemblance today to the citizen of the planet who wrote the Gettysburg Address.

5. The problem is that it is a NON-ISSUE. Neither one of them has had
a history of homosexuality... and if they were homosexual they would not be closet, gay hating, horrible insults to humanity like Santorum and the other repugs in the Senate.

And it is getting so tired... if a comedian (Leno) has to provide them with talking points... they are sorry excuses for repug politicians.

15. It's that frigging frat boy mentality!
Lord, I swear, it's all the same shit. Juvenile, "you're gay" tee hee hee. "You look like a fruit, " is about the mentality of attack we have from these people.

Which I was thinking, it's the same with the Plame case. Juvenile shit! You burned me, I'm gonna burn your girlfriend (wife). She'll lose her job, the one she loves at the Clothes Rack, and that will show you!

We have juvenile, pathetic leaders. No wonder the world thinks we are dangerous and to be laughed at. Only we aren't laughing.

or Tucker get out of that closet! bumper stickers. It's petty and stupid (just like him) and it would piss him off no end (though he'd never say that in public) and he'd have to have hissy fits in private and throw his bow tie on the floor and stomp on it. Sorry, I don't know why I'm so childish today, must be the weather.

Tucker is probably heterosexual and may even have a strange little crush on Senator Clinton. He has been quoted as saying that women want "to be spanked vigorously every once in a while." (Please see http://www.smirkingchimp.com/article.php?sid=16689 for more information)

27. Bush is Fabulous
January 2004.

Mr. Bush wandered over during Mr. Reid's chat with the Prime Minister. Mr. Reid introduced himself and shook hands with Mr. Bush.

The President chuckled. "Well, you got a pretty face," he told the surprised Mr. Reid. He wasn't done. "You got a pretty face," he said again. "You're a good-looking guy. Better looking than my Scott anyway."

Edited on Thu Jul-15-04 06:04 PM by Batgirl
I feel just a wee bit of pity for Tucker. Because he can never, ever, evereverever lose the bowtie. It troubles me to think of the many days when he's immobilized by a profound inner conflict. Just like the time Gilligan stomped his feet and said "I won't put it on! I won't do it! You can't make me, you can't make me!" Then cut to the scene of Gilligan wearing Mrs. Howell's ruffly dress.

Only at nighty-night does he find respite. When the hair and the bowtie are carefully placed on a wigstand next to the bed. A nightmarish image that chases him into his dreams.

37. Was this the clip from the Jay Leno show
a couple of weeks ago? It had the music playing in the background with a montage of shots (including a rear end pat by Kerry.) I don't watch Leno, but some other program was playing it (Larry King, maybe.)

Anyway, maybe it came across differently on Crossfire. Either that or I am a very insensitive person because I thought it was funny and cute.

48. It was the clip from the Tonight Show
It was also played on the Today Show when Cate Edwards, Chris & Andre Heinz and Vanessa and Alex Kerry were on the show. They thought it was funny too. BTW the ass that Kerry patted was Chris Heinz's. I'm surprised that Kerry hasn't been accused of an inappropriate relationship in that quarter. The whole thing is so ridiculous.

It wasn't the clip that came off badly on Crossfire, it was the commentary.

47. Fat Tim Russert started this bullshit the day after Edwards was announced
and other repukes picked it up. On comments on a blog, I posted that I thought it was a repuke talking point. The comment was deleted, but events make me believe I was more right than wrong. I think they will continue with the 'masculinity' attacks as long as they think they can get traction.
As far as Tucker Carlson, Carville and/or Begala ought to bitch-slap the sob if nothing else because of Carlson's comments about Edwards' specializing in jacuzzi law suits. A little girl had her intestines sucked out by a faulty pool(not made by Jacuzzi). She has to be fed by a tube, and will for the rest of her life. Carlson lost his standing as a human being. If Carville and Begala had any balls at all, they would refuse to be on the same stage with him. IMHO opinion, they don't have any balls. I think they have sold out to the dark side. DINOs.

49. Though I don't subject myself
to Crossfire, or any similar programs, it's slightly annoying to see how many people lap this stuff up.

Carlson is a stagehand in the pathetic dog-and-pony show that is today's American political scene.

Iraqi civilians are suffering and dying (as well as our own troops) daily, in order that the world's greediest, most corrupt power brokers might finally control their oil-rich country, Afghanistan is still in ruin (and the Taliban seem to be making a determined recovery), people are starving to death all over the globe and dying from preventable diseases (in many instances, a direct result of American hegemony). The proliferation of nuclear weapons is terrifying.

Anyone paying attention should be beyond outraged at the farce politics has become in this country. It's not as if the entire planet is not facing serious, serious issues, and we have this brand of foolishness all over the networks, trying to pass itself off as political discussion. It has gone beyond :eyes: and come to rest at a point that is the height of national irresponsibility, shallowness and moral depravation.
