Mort Kondracke: Blacks Voting For Bush Have "Independent Thought"
by Rimjob
Thu Jul 15th, 2004 at 19:05:10 EDT

Just wathcing FNC, and saw SPECIAL REPORT. I always love it when a group of rich white people sit around talking about how black people should vote.

Mort Kondracke was asked about if Bush will get any expansion of his share of the black vote. Kondracke said "Unfortunately he won't." He went on to say that the DEMOCRATIC PARTY has a STRANGLEHOLD on blacks, & that "only 10% of the community seems to be capable of independent thought."

Whenever I watch these pundits, I always think it's the most racist thing I've ever heard. They all think like Kondracke that Black people are incapable of making an informed decision. That all we as Democrats have to do is run a commercial & Blacks will vote for us, like waving a piece of meat in front of a dog. It's the height of condescension to say to a whole group of people, you don't understand how to make a decision, let me tell you how to think. That's FNC for you.

Sheesh.

1. What an incredibly stupid and racist remark!
But what can we expect from one of "liberals" on the McLaughlin Group?

Kondracke couldn't find his, well, never mind.

2. I wonder what would happen
if a Democratic pundit went on TV and said "the Republican party has a stranglehold on rednecks and only 10% of the community seems to be capable of independent thought" ... I bet it wouldn't be pretty

3. They are saying, in their sly way...
... that the 10% who vote Republican are the ones who think independently, which, in itself, is a pretty funny inversion of the truth.... :P

4. Can't imagine why this tack doesn't work
I mean, when someone who doesn't know me in the slightest tells me that I'm incapable of independent thought, my first inclination is to agree wholeheartedly and join whatever cause he's advocating for.

Honestly, the condescension and bullshit is just so thick anymore. These tax-fattened hyenas know they're going down, and they just don't give a flying Cheney. So, out come all the REAL feelings of how they view various segments of the electorate: Blacks, gays, low income persons, liberals, progressives, non-rabid conservatives, will all feel the "sting" of the rabid right's vituperation.

It will be sort of like being gummed by a toothless chihuahua.

Let's all point and laugh at Mr. Kondracke, children.

8. But he does think that the members of the NAACP speak very well, I bet.
I love that "tax-fattened hyenas" line, btw.

5. Many Fox hosts probably long for a day when black Americans couldn't vote
Just turn on talk radio if you want to hear racism and longing for the "good old days" when blacks and "mexicans" weren't ruining the country. That's practically part of the right wing platform these days.

6. Thats true of most organizations
About 10% think for themelves, and the other 90% follow along like sheep.

In case you are getting ready to flame me, I have no idea if that applies the NAACP, but I know it applies to most any organization I can think of.

12. I don't know about that one...
Sounds a little generalized. For instance, look at DU: take a survey of an issue like guns, and you'll get a fantastically varied spectrum of ideas. Not too many sheeple here; how can non-members claim to know the individual minds of organizations like NAACP?

9. Only .2% of Fox News watchers are capable of independent thought.
Who the hell is Fox to judge that ability?

Way to alienate Black Americans, by the way.

10. Apparently they have given up on trying to broaden their appeal
The Repukes are in such trouble, they have resorted to pandering to their hard-core base, which is why we are seeing this unabashed attack on anybody who differs from their Aryan ideal.

21. .2% of Fauxsnooze viewers....
Only .2% of Fox News watchers are capable of independent thought.<<

And this is how it happened moonbeam. The people of earth lost the ability to think for themselves... so they allowed the supreme court to pick their leader... and then they conjured up a "news" organization to do the peoples' thinking for them. From then on it was easy to convince many many people that war was peace, up was down.. and so forth. That is why you only see a cinder in the sky now where earth once was. Good night... sleep tight..... don't worry... we'll find another species to study soon.... hopefully one that doesn't allow shortsighted cowboys to come to power through a sham election process...

14. only 10% of NAACP?
or only 10% of the black community as a whole?

not that it really matters, but what's in your post and what's in your thread title don't match.

if it's the latter, that's really, really bad.

Edited on Thu Jul-15-04 06:56 PM by DesertedRose
"You are with us or you are with the terra-ists" and the diplomatic chaos and distrust from foreign nations that has ensued from THAT quote.

I'd be willing to wager 99.9% of Rush Limbaugh's listening audience is incapable of independent thought or critical thinking.

22. Hilarious coming from the station
who's brainwashing convinced a large number of their viewers that:

U.S. forces found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

and/or

There's clear evidence that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein worked closely with the Sept. 11 terrorists.

and/or

People in foreign countries generally either backed the U.S.-led war or were evenly split between supporting and opposing it.

80 percent of respondents to the Program on International Policy Attitudes survey who said they relied on Fox News as their primary news source believed atleast one of these falsehoods, compared with 47 percent for those who said they relied most on newspapers and magazines and 23 percent for those who said they relied on PBS or National Public Radio.

They sure know how to think for themselves those wily Fox viewers LMAO

should be allowed to even vote. They swallow that crap hook, line and sinker, and then regurgitate it as facts!
