Who read the part in My Life about the Cubans in the Ark. detention camp?

Anyone find it curious that the Pentagon might not have conveyed to the army running the camp an order by way of the white house and justice department that the posse comitatus act is not violted by the army keeping the detainees inside the camp?

That, uhm, mix-up (which was a violation of the consitution) hurt Carter in a state he won with 2/3rds of the vote, and hurt Clinton just before his electioin. (It hurt them when detainees escaped en masse from the camp, with the army not lifting a finger to stop them TWICE which freaked out the locas and resulted in terrible press).

Just one little mix-up, and so many Democrats hurt.

Clinton says he never found out who screwed up: the DoJ, the WH, or the Pentagon (and judging from some things Carter did, it certainly could have been the WH).
