ABC's The Note: Kerry writing his acceptance speech HIMSELF. |
|
What a concept- a Presidential candidate who WRITES HIS OWN SPEECH. I'd love to see * try this. Senator Kerry is heading to Nantucket this weekend in hopes that the smell of the saltwater ocean will inspire him in writing his speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination, reports the New York Times ' David Halbfinger. LINK
Notes ABC News' Ed O'Keefe: "Kerry, who prefers to write longhand, insisted he was toiling away on his nomination acceptance speech and finalizing plans including late addition speakers to the impending convention."
"The Senator acknowledged that top aides such as Terry Edmunds, Miles Lackey, and David Wade would eventually be allowed to take their blue pen filled hands to his work but Kerry explained, 'It's pretty personal. I'm not sharing much of it right now.'"
"And, the Democratic nominee-to-be's process does not lend itself to modern day editing. Sans Blackberry, laptop or desktop, Kerry described, 'I cut and paste, the old scissors and paste, write it out, have somebody type it up, read it, sleep on it, see how sh-tty it is in the morning.'"
"Moments later, the cautious politician corrected, 'Sorry, wrong word, bad it is.'"

I fondly remember the days when we had a president in office that wasn't a complete dumb-ass. I'm waiting in anticipation for Nov. 2nd so we can have that once again

W is almost done with his 4th year of "Hooked on Phonics" and will soon be able to read most of the words Karen Huge writes.

3. Does anyone else at DU think that "someone" has "gotten to" the Note? |
|
I have noticed a steady decline in their ability to mask their bias in the past few months. Before the Democratic primaries, the Note's writers would at least try to be objective, but lately they have just seemed to come out of their shells as propagandists. They have all but come out and said that they endorse Chimpy. I don't think that I can read them any more.

6. Actually, they're not too bad. |
|
They call out the NY Post and the Boston Herald on a routine basis. Their sarcasm can often be quite withering.
