OK, DUers...I am curious about TheDailyShow's audience numbers.

Anybody knows?
I know their audience is in the young-end of the spectrum, but I don't know how many people actually watch it. Being on cable and on a comedy channel I suspect not many people watch it?
I LOVE IT. It the best FAKE NEWS (as he says) program I have ever seen. Actually this is the least fake news I have see on TV.

..but a LOT of people, especially young people watch the Comedy Channel. Most people have cable, and most cable companies carry the Comedy Channel.

5. Anyone remember the study. . .

There was a study/focus group/poll/thing that showed that a viable percentage of the under thirty crowd get their news from The Daily Show more than any other television broadcast (usually suplemented by the internet). Anyone have actual facts on that? I am too lazy to use Google right now for anything but Box Turtle Porn.

8. I can't give you numbers....

but it is clear from his A-list guest list he is pulling some BIG numbers. He has had Presdiential candidates (hell, didn't Edwards annouce on his show?), a Secretary of State, an Ambassador, top foreign affairs leaders, top media leaders, top political leaders and everyone else of any important on. You don't get those kinds of guest if you aren't getting the numbers.

And the fact that the GOP is now lining up for the chance to push their agenda for five minutes on Jon -- and willing to be humiliated for it -- tells you this show has got serious pull with a demographic they are desperate to reach.
