Freepers delight in an authoritarian regime
Does anyone need more proof that these cretins will not balk when the GOP takes a full swing into fascism? This thread is not only full of the "good for him" psuedo-tough swagger usually found at the cowards website, but there is also a great deal of PRAISE for the new tactic of amnesty for the terrorists. I guess they all forgot about the "with us or against us" shit their dear leader was spouting last year.

And gee, I thought we went there to bring democracy to the Middle East.

One of the most bizzare posts I've seen there:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1172622/posts

BEST POST:

"From the beginning, I thought that the best scenario was that Iraq gets an authoritarian government like the Shah of Iran or Pinochet of Chile. Authoritarianism isn't ideal, but it beats totalitarianism"

3. Ummmm...Authoritarianism is better than totalitarianism...
...eep. Aren't they the same thing? Just another moment where a freeper says something so stupid that you have to stop and think..."am I insane?..no...it's them."

We need mandatory critical thinking classes in high school to ensure that every American has some capacity for logical discussions. I just can't take this stupidity any more.

5. The sure love their dictators there don't they...

"Allawi probably just gave the orders but this is looking better and better. Unfortunately Arab Muslim psychology loves the strong man. Allawi just has to a brutal but benevolent dictator and the Iraqi Baathist terrorist scum will fall into line and Iraq will be a far better place than under Saddam"

THATS RIGHT!! YOU BETTER FALL INTO LINE BEHIND GWB. AMERICA IS A FAR BETTER PLACE WITH HIM.

OR DO YOU WANT TO GET SHOT?

6. They're all for totalitarianism...
as long as their side is in power. By the way, "totalitarianism" is an "old" word, and they like to look ahead, not backwards. Now, the word is "freedom".

10. Is this where the movement to instill self-esteem has lead?
Are people now so pleased with themselves that they can't see their abysmal ignorance and feel no shame flaunting it?

11. Idiots.
They were supporting Saddam in the 80s when Bush/Reagan empowered Saddam and were supplying him the tools to suppress the Iraqi people, too.

So killing 10's of thousands of Iraqis and flattening their infrastructure to empower another blood thirsty dictator is their idea of democracy?

These people have no moral compass. They all use a Republican-supplied compass that says whatever direction we point to is the right way....no thinking required.

14. "brutal and benevolent"
Now that's my kind of dictator.

I guess, after rounding up all the dissidents, he could bake special cakes for them, maybe hand-decorate them. For prisoners to enjoy between woodchipper sessions.

Edited on Fri Jul-16-04 11:16 AM by enki23
pinochet, for chrissakes? i think this person is a free republic disruptor, trying to make them look bad. i can't imagine someone actually being that fucking stupid. why didn't we just keep saddam? he was in our pocket, after all, while he was gassing merrily away.

well, i can. but i hope not.

15. I thought the same thing..
That the statement was sooooo completely stupid and over the top that it had to be a disruptor. But you know what, the more I was reading that thread and how no one spoke up against it, I don't think it was a disruptor.

16. or more likely
the love of "brutal and benevolent" dictators is merely revelatory of the typical (homophobe) freeper's secret homoerotic fantasy lover...

17. Authoritarianism IS Totalitarianism. This just confirms these people are
Nazis.

And Hitler was a Leftist in spite, of HIS OWN WORDS, MUSDSOLINI'S WORDS, that crazed Leftist CHURCHILL'S Words.

By their own words they indicate that, yes, theyw ill bow and and lick the boots of the Imperials, and serve them like their spiritual antecedents served Hitler, if they are asked.

No doubt abotu it.

Monsters.
