Are WalMart commercials on TV a regional thing?
Where I live in Texas, the testimonial-type ads feature working moms who are either having a hard time making ends meet, or extolling the virtues of saving a few pennies. They have a twangy voice and are overweight in varying degrees with haircuts from the 1980's.

There is another set of ads running which talk about how involved WalMart is in community service (yeah, right, whatever).

Are these the same women in your WalMart ads?

2. NE Ohio...Yep, sounds like the ones we get
Always with southern accents, and thrilled with the opportunities WalMart affords them.

Not as nauseating as the oil company ads:
Q: Would you rather have clean air....or drive your car ?
A: Well...I NEED my car !

4. I think they are the same here in Ga.
All I know is that I cringe everything I see one because I know quite a few people who now work or formerly worked for Walmart. The ads are damage control. The rumors are true! They do lock people in the store after closing to finish a job "off the clock". They run their company the way businesses used to be run in the 1930's, and use their worker's desparation for employment to force them to do things. They threaten dismissal knowing the employee can't afford to quit.

5. Oh, do you get the one....
....where the black mother talks about raising her daughter at WalMart and how its a miracle that the child wasn't born there?

We get a lot of "I'm a working mom and I don't have time to go to real stores, so I shop for everything at WalMart."

We also get the community service lip service ads too.

My DH was amused at Christmas time about the ads they ran all the time about a class that raised money to buy toys for needy children and then went to buy stuff at WalMart.....so, how is this community service on WalMart's part again? Oh, they allow people to buy things there.....

I hate that store. I don't care if things cost double somewhere else, I will not set foot in a WalMart or Sam's Club anymore.

7. We used to get ads with southern "actors"
Now, we see ads with people who have mid-Atlantic "accents."
