So I'm thinking about going to see Control Room AND The Corporation |
|
today. I'm going to have to ask my girlfriend if she really wants to go, though. We're going to have to drive to Chicago, which seems to be the only place in IL showing the movie right now, and that's over two hours away.
Anyone who's seen either one of them...what do you think? We can see both at once. Is it worth the two hour drive?

1. control room is better than f9-11 |
|
...as a movie, anyway. it is more subtle, and therefore a more powerful indictment of the Iraq War. It also artfully nails the lapdog US media while providing a wonderful snapshot of the Al-Jazeera folks as humans who are trying to do a good thing with their network.
Do not miss it. Sorry you have to drive 2 hours though.
The Corporation, I haven't seen. I saw the trailer for it at Control Room. It looks like a don't miss as well.
Hope it works out for you to see them both!

2. "The Corporation" has a lot of material ... |

They mention some of the media issues, but don't deal with the specifics of media in the Middle East. I haven't seen "The Control Room", but it sounds like a good opportunity if you can see both films!
