2. All of it and there is more suspicious stuff, but these are
the verifiable ones. These people would be doing time if they were Joe and Jane Sixpack.

4. In general, yes...
... there's some truth in all the allegations. I wouldn't say that Neil Bush was singularly responsible for the $1.2 billion lost by Silverado--there were a number of directors on the board, and several had suggested bad loans. Neil Bush was responsible for a couple of hundred million or so of those bad loans. That he got off with a five-figure fine is probably a reflection of who was in the White House at the time (his dad). Same with the failure of the SEC to completely investigate Dubya's Harken inside trading.

I'm surprised by your surprise about the Bushes. A lot of that is very well-known around these parts. This actually goes quite light on Jebby--he's had his fingers in a lot of unsavory Florida pies, with some rather unsavory characters, some of which have ties to the Cuban mafia--including one guy who skipped the country when indictments were due to come down on massive Medicare fraud. All the facts still aren't in if Jebby was involved with bribing Nigerian officials in a deal to sell Nigeria electric water pumps for its water system.

All the Bushes have had the overriding opinion that public service should result in private profit. As Neil Bush's ex-wife says, "they're not a family--they're a political organization."
