Will there ever be any "PLAME INDICTMENTS" ?
Edited on Sun Jul-18-04 09:05 AM by Mountainman
I keep reading about the coming indictments and it seems like it may be wishful thinking.

There is so much out there from the 9/11 commission, the prisoner scandal and others but it hasn't done much to change the balance of the election. I almost believe if Satan appeared on Meet the Press and told the world that Bush has sold his soul it wouldn't change half of the voters minds.

If and when there ever are Plame indictments will it make any difference?

1. don't know how much difference it will make, if one of the chiefs of
staff (libby or card) get tapped and the media makes noise it may help

it will depend on how high it goes and how loud it gets

2. I'm losing hope that
the indictments will ever come and even if they do that they will make any difference. The majority of the people are so mindnumbed and indured to any "discovery" of wrongdoing by those in or assocated with this administration that nothing registers; the synapses no longer connect. It's depressing.

4. With all the criticism

the CIA has taken because of faulty intelligence they might just be waiting for the most effective time to make the call. I can't believe the CIA is just sitting back and taking all the blame for the war and the WTC, but I guess they could be. Do you think Tenet will talk? Maybe they are getting more information and able to make a stronger case?

6. Remember when the CIA took the blame for the Bay of Pigs fiasco?....
Do you remember what happened about two years later?

The CIA never forgets.

8. I think that JFK
accepted responsibility for the Bay of Pigs. There is a tendency to re-write history in our minds, and fill in blanks from the past with information we learned later. Kennedy made clear to his administration that they would not publicly blame CI. In fact, you would have a very hard time finding a single article from that period that was in any major media that focused attention on CI. It was a post-Kennedy practice for presidents to blame others.

10. Thanks, H2O Man
JFK referenced the plaque on Harry S. Truman's desk in the White House which said simply, "The buck stops here." Then Kennedy went on to say that, regarding the Bay of Pigs fiasco, "The buck stops here." Ironically, the Bay of Pigs had been set up BEFORE JFK hit the White House. But he refused to point fingers elsewhere. (Quite unlike the current gang of weasels occupying Toad Hall...I mean...the White House.)

5. I was always under the impression
that the CIA was not to be *ucked with, by anyone.

Maybe that's changed, but I seriously doubt it.

I think there will be indictments, but "when" is the question.

7. Hell, I think Satan hosts Meet the Press!
When a party controls all three branches of our government like they do now, they are bullet proof! This is a nightmare!

9. The Grand Jury is still at work...
Now if they had quit already, then we'd know nothing was coming. As it is, ala Whitewater style, this investigation probably has opened up several new pipelines and more shit from the booshes is being found. Lord knows there's enough sewerage out there to find.

11. From today's NYT-
http://nytimes.com/2004/07/18/international/middleeast/18URAN.html?pagewanted=2

"There may be more revelations to come. The British and American reports contained still-classified information about Iraq's dealings with Niger. Beyond that, Patrick Fitzgerald, the federal prosecutor examining the leak of Ms. Plame's identity, is expected to announce in a matter of weeks whether he will prosecute anyone."
