Did anyone see Washington Journal this morning?
specifically, Peter Huessy, National Defense University Foundation, Senior Defense Associate.

He said that the NY Times and Washington Post completely debunked Ambassador Wilson's story about Iraq not trying to buy yellow cake from Niger.

Where the hell have I been??

Does anyone know anything about this?

1. I've read something about it. I think it is just part of the campaign
You have Cheney saying there is a connection to Al Qeada and those who say we have or will soon find the WMDs even though the 9/11 commission and it Intelligence Committee say otherwise.

It is all an attempt to hold on to the kool aid drinking base.

2. Like I said, Wilson will have to SUE. But he is going to be
on Late Edition (CNN)today:
LATE EDITION (CNN), noon: King Abdullah of Jordan; Sens. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) and Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.); New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson (D); Bush-Cheney campaign Chairman Marc Racicot; former ambassador to Iraq Joseph C. Wilson IV; and Carmen bin Laden, sister-in-law of Osama bin Laden.

where he was saying the NYT was lyin' and trying not to make us go into Iraq and Afganistan ..so I know that's just the opposite of what happened.

I would say the opposite is true of what you're relating that this creep said, too.

ON EDIT~

Peter Huessy, National Defense University Foundation, Senior Defense Associate ..another neocon hound from Hell.

Edited on Sun Jul-18-04 09:55 AM by tandot
and Bush's chicken hawks. He sounds like an extreme right-wing fundamentalist.

None of the major news channels had brought that story. And even the Intelligence committee stated in their report that the Niger claims were completely wrong. I'd rather believe them then some right-wing lunatic with an agenda.

This is just another story that the right-wing is trying to keep alive. Anything, even lies, to get Bush re-elected. They count on all those brainless morons who don't check facts...

Those evil bastards make me sick :puke:

6. He's a moron
They are just going off on a tangent. It doesn't change the basic fact that someone in the WH outed a CIA agent.
Here is a rundown of what's been going on

15. Don't worry about spelling....
because if we worried so much about what we spell, free communication is stopped. Some of us are dyslexic, and spelling is a nightmare. Moran, Moron, it all looks the same to a dyslexic like me.

9. He's wrong
the commission found evidence that IRAN was trying to buy the yellow cake. There is nothing in the commission's report that contradicts Wilson.

10. How dare they invite that jackass on...
to discuss Kerry's potential as Commander-in-Chief? As soon as they said he had had a column printed in the Washington Times, I knew he would never find anything good to say about Kerry. What a slime and Bush apologist!

11. Josh Marshall addressed the issue very well
He wrote a summary a day or so ago. Astute observations and critical analysis are not the GOP's strengths. Those are progressive characteristics.

Anyway, this information has been available to TPTB for a long time. If they wanted to debunk Wilson, it should have been brought forth when the flap was raging. This is another fricking red herring to take the spotlight off their association with teacher's pet Chalabi, who was in bed with the neocons and the Iranians.

16. I'm still pissed about this!
I've never been a fan of the CIA, but outing an agent is intolerable to me. How can any government worker in their right mind put a government worker in such a harmful position. My blood boils when I think about the underhanded tactics the Bush folks use to silent dissenters. It just stinks.

17. that guy pissed me off so much I kept flipping channels
Edited on Sun Jul-18-04 04:16 PM by buycitgo
EVERY time I flipped back he was telling one lie or another:

one) Saddam threw inspectors out. hello, liar. we withDREW them so WJC could bomb them. wonder if he also said, like the liar in chief, that Saddam wouldn't let them back in, either

two) Bush quit flying to take that job in Alabama, THEN, when he returned got RECERTIFIED (or some version of that word), and STARTED FLYING again!!!!!!!!!!

those are the two I remember off the top of my head, aside from the yellow cake crap, which he accused of Wilson of "manufacturing out of whole cloth" IIRC

and did you catch his lower TEETH? what a fricking impacted bolus of sewer sludge he was

and that little weasel STEVE, just kept priming him, asking him leading questions, reading clips from the Weekly Standard, plus a column from Fred Barnes (aside from the WS crap). that wienie really showed his wingnut colors today. he also cut off the first caller, just as he was getting started, accusing the chimp of being a coward during the VN war

truly despicable showing by the CSPAN contingent today

24. That's what gets me
One lying POS after another can get on national TV and lie through their teeth ("Saddam threw the inspectors out!") without being challenged by these timid little shills that pose as "journalists."

19. This guy made the wildest claim you ever heard...
The weirdest part was when he claimed that the forged documents were actually forged by 'someone' (insinuating Wilson or a cronie) specifically to make Wilson's case and to make Bu*h look like he was lying, when it really was that 'horrible little man' Joe Wilson who was the scurrilous liar. SHEEZ!!!

What a freeped up piece of crap that was! :puke: :grr::mad:

22. thanks.........missed that part
but it sure fits the other crap he was spewing

it really amazes me how many lunatics from the FAR right the allow on that show, with NO comparable 'loons' from the left

chief case in point is Terry Jeffrey, from Human Events, a magazing SO insane that, when I was a kid, I noticed it. my parents used to get it, as part of their John Birch Society membership.

now, for whatever reason, he's given cred as a journalist, and appears often on WJ, as well as most of the other gasbag shows.

20. The first thing that I noticed was his statements that he used
to go over to the Congress/Senate and try to catch them at the elevator for an interview (Does this insinuate that he couldn't get an appointment with a Congressman or Senator?). Also, he had written an article in the Washington Times a newspaper I wouldn't trust since it's owned by Moon. Why if Republicans are so concerned about honor and integrity do they align themselves with a newspaper like The Times?

21. He played fast and loose with the truth all the way through it.
A couple of callers bested him, I thought.

He seems like a hit man.

What I was apalled at was Face The Nation. Ed Gillespie prattled on and on saying anything he felt like, most of it untrue, and Terry MacAulliff just SAT there!

Terrry Mac was really off his game.

Gillespie must have had 12 words to every one of MacAulliff's.

In addition, Bob Shieffer was very hard on the Democrat, but let a bunch of stuff slide with the Republican.

23. Saw Wilson on Wolf Blitzer. He debunked the Commission's Report
about him. There were three assertions on the Commission's Report about Wilson, and Wolf and Wilson took them one by one, and Wilson debunked every one with dates and facts. He has written a letter to the Commission asking them to reconsider their assertions. He said the Commission just flat gets it wrong, in those assertions.

Wilson said his debunking in online. One site is www.salon.com
