The GOP and their privitization plans are killing our "Great Society"!
This Great Society has already been severely wounded. Attacks on MediCare, HeadStart, WIC, and veterans benefits are just the tip of the iceburg.
Somehow Democrats need to debunk the GOP meme about how bad Socialism is, especially when it is not really socialism but social programs meant for the great good of all our citizens.

7. Proud? W ran as compassionate conservative
They have to lie to sell this crap to mainstream America. It's like all those cutesy named bills like Leave No Child Behind, Clear Skies, and Helathy Forests. They say one thing and do the exact opposite!

2. That's the plan. But won't it be a shocker to these ignorant fools
when they also loose their jobs and they go to stand in line for a hand-out to get by. Republicans are always first in line when it comes to public funds and they will discover their heros have stolen all the money.

3. of course...
but how? Air America radio, while it is nice, can never spread the word fast enough. There needs to be a LW Cable news station that, sad to say, follows the fox formula. Also, LW mainstream newspapers need to become more brazen in their attacks of the president and his awful programs.

6. It's called reaganism, eh?
It's been at work for some time now. It's utter bullshit and it's best to recognize the roots and begin chopping away. Why do ya think DU was so durned happy when RR finally died?

8. One step at a time.
Medicare, Head Start, etc. are NOT socialism, they are social programs. This needs to be pointed out again and again. The constant misuse of words by Republicans should be pointed out at every opportunity.

Second, it should also be pointed out that socialism is a tool. It isn't as monetarily effecient as capitalism and goes against many people's sensibilities. That's a given. It should be admitted up front. That's not the end of the story, though. There are some aspects of a society that shouldn't answer to the bottom line. For these, socialism is a reasonably good tool.

Once it is established that socialism is nothing more than a tool, it becomes less alarming. And it shouldn't be any more alarming than capitalism or any other tool.

9. GOP may be the instigators, but Dems are complicit
Clinton did *his* part to disenfranchise women and children.

Just try to get DUers to make *one* phone call about these issues. Most are not interested.

Not nearly as important as writing to theaters about F911.

Of course the "Great Society" is going extinct. It's just fine with the population as a whole.

11. That's why I dislike the DLC so much
They are the GOP wing of the party that go along with most of this crap.
