Does someone high-profile need to say 'child rape at Abu Ghraib'?

It seems the only way to get some of these issues OUT there is to have someone unequivocally plant the issue in a high-profile event where millions watch. Then major media are forced to do the investigations and analyses they SHOULD have been doing all along. Take Michael Moore, when he was speaking on behalf of Clark, dubbing Bush a deserter. The GOP groups freaked and attempted to turn the debate wholly to how 'wrong' that assertion is to make while at the same time trying to squash any attempt to actually find out if it was true. But before that, AWOL died a quick and brutal death leading up to the 2000 election--nobody touched it seriously at all.

So does it come to this? Do we need a Whoopi or a Michael Moore to bring it up in a hugely inflammatory way just to get press coverage? People need to know these things, and the networks are all sitting on their hands, just as they did on Niger. They'll wait until knowing this doesn't make any immediate political difference (read: after the election) to report on it.

2. Good idea
Time to let the spineless in DC know We the People are getting the facts
without the help of the American press.

3. If we can get the election system to work again,

then maybe we can restore freedom of speech to the media, get a Congress that isn't bought and sold by multinationals, restore some semblance of impartiality to the justice system, and maybe even prosecute some of the child-rapers. Right now, even if the media screamed "Child-rape at Abu Ghraib!" 24 hours a day, the puke-controlled Congress wouldn't act on it, the puke appointed heads of the justice department wouldn't prosecute if we beat them over the heads with the evidence, and the partisan puke majority on the Supreme Court would overturn any convictions, which wouldn't be necessary because * would issue pardons beforehand.

On the other hand, if we cannot get the election system to work again, I hope to God that the parents of those young boys find a way to nuke us all to hell.
